Wow how cool that you referenced such an old match! I had completely forgotten that Rhienns used to fire bursts (or at least the D-Rhienns).

Back then, Rhienns used to be the romulan nightmare rather than Leahval-spam

Although my last statement is correct about the torpedo exhaust, visually it looks a lot better!
It really is a good mod. I tested it under critical mass battles and it helps performance on older machines (tested on my old laptop). How did you do it by the way? Was that even your intention?
Whatever it may be, I highly recommend it!

Thank you very much! A performance boost was totally unintended

I think this could be due to the fact that I rescaled some of the textures.
About the torpedoes, I checked it and you are right. But nevertheless none of the torpedoes in neither the shows nor the movies had this kind a trails FleetOps has.

Yeah, well, if you pluck out those torpedo trails it does help with those weakly integrated graphics on laptops...

*ears perk up*
Improved performance, you say? I'll have to check this out then. I've decided that while my laptop can handle recording just fine, ironically it can't handle playing too well because I get just a tiny bit of cursor lag that does terrible things to my micro.

Just so that you know, its not a 99% performance increase and it only showed in critical mass battles. The laptop I borrowed from my cousin has a single core processor, 1GB of ram and really shitty integrated graphips. I tested it once under an external framerate measuring device and after a fed vs. dom large scale (50+ ships on each side) massacre it went up by 4-6fps in average.
Propably has something to do with the fact that the graphics card doesn't have to render those torp. trails anymore

Yep, I checked it on my older PC. It runs a very very tiny bit smoother because of the lack of torp trails.

the torp trails are still rendered as long as you dont change the sod geometry. they are just rendered being completely transparent, which is no performance change at all

No, you can have it render @1px quality, which pretty much is 1/1000 the amount of textures it had before.

yea, but rendering a textured polygon is realy not an issue for a half-way modern graphics card. rendering transparent elements is magnitudes more difficult
