The next patch will probably be the largest patch we made since the release of version 3. It will feature a lot of new content - like the previously announced ingame interface redo - a ton of balancing improvements and many new features, with some not even yet revealed!

Eventhough I will probably regret saying this later in MP matches, this is a great new feature! :) And its a lot more realistic this way :)

Though a couple of questions come to mind, what will happen to the talon refit, Dominion sensor station and Dominion perimeter station?

Hmm...

From the way the new patch is presented, version number may be 3.1.0.

There is a lot of content changes, but not enought to warrant a 4.0 jump.

Anyways, it seems finally playing Romulans and Klingons will be interesting.

Oh, by the way, will Cardassians ( when/if added ) use cloaking like in STA2?

Unlikely, they are not a Cloak-capable race. The only ones who used Cloak is the Tal Shiar/Obsidion Order fleet.

Uhhh...

Not to sound rude, but the Tal Shiar is the ROMULAN Intelligence Service. The Obsidian Order are the Cardassian Intelligence Service.

And if the Obsidian Order has cloaks, then the Cardassians are cloak capable, even if they limit it to the Intelligence Service.

Still, I agree that STA2 "abused" the cloaking capacity of Cardassians, granting it to almost all of their military units. AFAIK, most of cardassian units, and most notably the big guns, were NOT equipped with cloaking devices.

But FO is not DS9, and it doesn't need to follow STA2 philosophy regarding Cardassians and cloaking. So, it makes sense to ask.

the fleet which he meant was the one that got erased by a dominion ambush at the fake homeworld of the founders

Very cool!  But I have a few questions. How long does it take to scan. Is it passive or manual. And of course, what happens to thet Talon Refit?

vessels that had Tachyon detection have been converted into tachyon pings in most cases, like the Talon for example. the range varies from unit to unit.

Pings are emitted automatically every 10 seconds, unless modified by special abilities

10 seconds... hmm, I hope is long enough. Is the ping forcing ships to decloak just like active scan does now ?
