Fleet Operations started as a mod years ago, with the modding possibilities that Armada offers. We had to map our ideas and gameplay concepts on what was possible in Armada and it was unavoidable to hit some borders sooner or later. Now, by the year of 2010, this situation has changed, as we spent the last years to develop a lot of functionality. The faction redos, while heavily influenced by the community, also include a lot of the gameplay ideas and concepts that we originally hoped for in the Beta1 and Beta2 releases. And now they are inbound! After a year of throwing out small posts about their development, the first faction redo, the Borg, will come in 3.1.4, together with a lot of general game mechanics overhaul.

*Sniff sniff*

Smell that? Smells like the next Fed OP feature freshly rolled out of the production line...

Now, I like the idea. But for Feds only sounds kinda biased. We all ready know how much superuberopunkillablemegaownage power the Feds currently have. Yes I know the Warpin will be nerfe... ahem... tweaked. But I think this will just fill its spot.

If you have this for all races (maybe except for the Borg, but it might work canon-wise), I think it would be an awesome feature.

The Next Generation (pardon the pun) of counters!  :D

fleet ops will have "real" strategy for the very first time! :woot:

When I first played Fleet Ops, there were AoE attacks and they were really fun to use.  Sadly, as balancing went on, most of them were removed or damage-capped, until the BortaS is the only true AoE attack left.  If these new features allow you to bring back AoE damage and area buffs/disables in more balanced ways, I'm all for it!

...seriously, I want generix support frigates to have an area movement speed buff.  Like, really bad.

I look forward to your next post with baited breath.

Lol Dominion special station: for 5 seconds, EVERY large-yard ship the player controls gets the HSA ability.
