you...you fixed it! I wanted a fix and you DID IT. Thanks a ton, gonna go build some Saeihrs!!!
Seriously, there is nothing listed in this patch that I don't like. Although I have yet to see the results of Romulans' "dilithium and tritanium costs reduced"
Good Job!

I haven't played since 3.07, and while I admit I'm a little apprehensive about some of the visual changes - I hear the interface has changed significantly - I can't wait to give 3.1.2 a try, because it looks like a lot has been done to fix the gameplay and balance, to say nothing of the more technical fixes.
Thanks so much to the devteam! I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes, once I get it up and running of course.

Well, first off the graphics look wonderful, but...
Maybe I've just missed something here, but Borg assimilation tactics seem pretty much impossible now.
I used to be able to take a pack of 4-6 Assimilators, use their Auto-Assimilator beams to drain the crew, and then take over the enemy ship with Matrix Teleport. It required fast reflexes, but I could usually get two or three ships converted.
But apparently, this most recent patch cancels that out; it's nearly impossible to seize even one ship. Once the crew's gone, the AI starts beaming in replacement crew even as I'm transporting my own drones (from the Assimilators themselves), and all the while my own ships are firing on the ones I'm trying to capture because they haven't turned yet. To add insult to injury, I can maintain control of a ship for maybe five seconds before another enemy shoots it down - since its shields are down and it's already taken friendly fire, that's pretty much it.
Am I doing something wrong here? My favorite Borg tactic has always been turning the enemy's fleet against it, but that doesn't seem possible anymore...

i dont know how big the fleets are that you fight against, but normally you should be able to capture ships in 5er packs easily. and even if the ai beams crew over to the ship your assimilating, you should see it from a positive side: the crew that they waste on this ships misses on the others; and a fleet of ships with yellow or even red crew levels is much weaker than a fully crewed fleet.

and they must lower the shields so they are easier to kill for your assims

indeed, in online play if you use autoassim beam to drain a ship that is instantly one ship lost for your enemy, if they try recrew it then your ships will easily munch their hulls away. no online player would behave like the ai and try recrew ships if you have ships nearby. unless you are using all assims and they have only small ships which your assims torps will miss most of the time. then they may try it which is an incentive not to put all your eggs in basket and have some scubes/assims with beam module lurking around your fleet.
even if you dont drain a ship of its crew you get two benefits: 1) their crew will almost certainly drop into yellow and their firerate will drop 2) they will most definitely retreat the ship to recrew, removing the threat from combat and allowing you to eat the rest of their fleet.
as far as i can tell the new dodecahedron is pretty useful, not only does it do good turret, but it has vinculum mode where u can refresh special energy of your assim to allow it to use assim beam more.

yeah, i love them too, especilly the 2x interception ones because tey disable subsystems really fast.
btw: the support-abilities of my dodecahedrons are usually level1:0 level2:0 and level3:0; maybe the dodecahedrons without vinculum could be without the standard support ship description? (in the tooltip)

ah right, a tooltip glitch. will be fixed in the next hotfix, but nothing too major ^^

the dodes are great. they are a mouthful but fun. and the graphics are stunning. i was watching a lone chargh attack some miners, i paid so much attention to this attack i forgot to keep building stuff.

Aye, those Dodo's are pretty nifty! Their unique modules add a whole new tangent to Borg play (Tbh, I never liked the old Borg Turret).
I'm also liking the Romulan Defense Batteries! They seem much more "Romulan" now, especially with their secondary weaponry.
Finally, I tip my hat to those effects. Everything looks nicer but also performs much better too. No more painful lag after every explosion!

the old turret did seem a bit lacking. now the dodes can be sensor turrets as well.
