EPIC Game - Recap

So this game was too epic not to talk about.
On Monday, November 16th 2009 around 2:30 to 5:20 Pacific/Central American time, a game of FLOPS was played that-
TOTALLY F'ING ROCKED.
Ahem; which of course meant that it was a 2 v 2 v 2 free for all ending in literally a massive battle with close to no bases left on the map. Truly a victory of the last man standing.
Teams were as follows:
Mort (Borg)
SIAK (Borg)
vs.
Boggz (Fed-Ris)
Veronw (Rom)
vs.
Funnystuffpictures (Borg)
Mimesot (Rom)
The map was DESTINY BOARD.
-Keep in mind I can only relate this from my side until the others throw in some of their own-
-SO C'MON GUYS THROW IN YOUR ANCIENT MEMORIES AND HELP ME MAKE IT EPIC-
Basic Progression:
- Veronw and Boggz attack Mort first. A Desent and several torp Rheinns attack his base looking for his uplink.
- Mort has put his uplink in SIAK's base and we arrive as the assimilator comes out. Funny is attacking SIAK's base from the opposite side and we move to destroy Mort's mining.
- Mort manages several more Assimilator's and a probe and move to attack Boggz' expansion, destroying it. :assimilate: Mort is a goon.
- A counter-attack by a pair of Descents, Cobalt wielding Intrepids, along with more Rhienn Refits catch up to and destroy Mort's Assimilator's :2guns:.
- Mort loses parts of his base and decoms the rest. Wild cheers are heard on Boggz' and veronw's homeworlds.
- Mort begins to rebuild at SIAK's base and use his expansion.
- Crazy.Mort crazy.lagsout - Sad faces are shared by all
because we love Mort. 
- SIAK is alone. Friendly advice as well as condolences are shared throughout the quadrant. Ferenginar begins plotting the salvaging of his base.
- Skirmish over veronw's East expansion with Mimesote's Romulan vessels.
MAJOR BATTLE
- veronw engages fellow Romulan vessels in a struggle for sexy Romulan dominance. This battle is carried out knowing that the victor will become King and dominant male of his pride and granted mating rights with Romulan leader Cmd. Denotra:

- Veronw's Generix Supports and Rhienn's falter against Mim's Norexans and Cehlear's. Forgot their Wheaties this morning.
- Assimilator's and a Pyramid from Funny attack veronw. :borg:
- Resistance Seems Futile:
- Boggz' fleet moves to intercept Funny's Borg
- A Canaveral demonstrates it's battle-ending prowess by rendering the Borg ships prostrate and impotent like an old man tempting young boys. For further elaboration of what that means I submit the following:

Canaverals have that affect on young and impressionable ships.[/align]
- Moment of consolidation. Wounds are licked by all.
- Boggz expands to take Mort's moons.
- Funny's first Tact Cube is spotted. :blink:
- Prediction made that Mimesot is funneling resources into Funny's Cube-making triangle trade that includes booze, dirty needles, and Tactical Cubes.
MAJOR BATTLE
- Attack is made on Mimesot's main starbase and facilities. Large fleet's of Akira's and Generix Supports. Dual Descents prove to be excellent tanks and well suited to fighting Borg.
- Intelligence Center and Mining Facilities are first targets. Next to go are the Tal'Shiar and research stations.
- Mimesot's fleet arrives and engages into battle. Sensor Blackout once again demonstrates it's battle-winning leverage.
- Funny's Tactical Cube arrives shortly. It is kept controlled by Generix's continually disabling it's weapons. Akira's and Descents do the damage and the Cube is destroyed.
- Most of Mimesot's base is destroyed.
- More Borg forces arrive
with another Tact Cube and the remnants of Boggz and veronw's forces retreat in different directions taking considerable losses.
THE GAME IS HEATING UP
- R and R taken. Boggz and veronw regroup with new forces built during the last attack. Funny's ships dissappear. Probably to clean the Borg-poop out of their geometric corners.
- Funny's Cube engages veronw's base but is driven off and then destroyed by a combination of Akira's, Generix Supports and several Sovereigns. Boggz and veronw assume Funny is out of Cubes.
- Mistaken assumption made. See previous bullet.
- Boggz's base at Mort's moons falls to several unexpected Cubes
- Boggz and veronw move out and destroy what remains of mimesot's home base. Much back-patting and hand-shaking ensues.
- Ninja Cubes lost from view. :ph34r:
- Decision made to attempt to cripple Funny.
- South part of Funny's base is annihilated. Joviality increases.
- A Tactical Cube is found at 3/4 built and is destroyed JUST as it it about to be completed. Funny's reaction () implies total and complete victory. Elation climaxes.
- veronw's base dissappears
- Boggz fails to notice that veronw's base has dissappeared.
- Veronw mentions something to the effect of "don't worry about my base, just finish Funny", but Boggz is too busy laughing maniacally to pay attention. ::)
- Funny's base is in ruins. Boggz proceeds to destroy an expansion.
- Boggz notices the absence of Veronw's base. :blink:
- Veronw explains to Boggz that there are still 3 Tact Cubes and a Diamond crashing about the map.
- Much contemplating occurs over the next step to be taken.
- Boggz's base is om nom nom nom nom'd by Cubes.
- Veronw and Boggz flee constructors and miners to other moons.
- A 4th Cube is destroyed nearing completion in an uplink while en route to battle. Much rejoicing. :shifty:
- A previously unnoticed Cube at 1/4 strength is spotted and gunned down by a lone veteran Tavara. Extra rejoicing with sprinkles on top.
- Boggz and Veronw begin to rebuild in expansions. New strategy discussed.
THE FINAL MOMENT
- A 4th completed Cube is spotted heading to join the other 3.
- Boggz and Veronw attempt to intercept the Cubes as they eat exp after exp.
- The Cubes are cornered in the Southwest part of the map. They are brought to battle by a large force consisting of Akira's, Galaxies, Sovereigns, Generix Supports, a Vet Tavara (203 defense), several D'Deridex, and a handful of Defiants armed with critical shot. NO CANAVERALS ARE PRESENT
- A Cube is destroyed quickly as the Supports and Defiants begin disabling weapons.
- The 4th Cube arrives. :assimilate:
- Due to an error in communication, Veronx's Romulan fleet breaks off it's attack to engage the approaching Cube.
- Boggz's fleet is quickly shredded by the remaining 3 Cubes buffed by the Diamond. Much crying, much panicking
- The Romulans return to the battle and are destroyed by the remaining Borg vessels.
The game ends with each player controlling only a token base consisting of many resources but few structures. The last man standing consists of 3 Tactical Cubes and a Diamond.

Indeed, it was quite an epic struggle. Now this is accurate for the most part, until the end. Boggz, with his mighty fleet destroyed, left the game, with Veronw and funny still alive.
I had my Tavara still, she had escaped the destruction and was harrassing the cubes at range around the map. I had also secretly sneaked a few bases around here and there, one with a lovely intel center. Using Romulan guile, Tal'shiar agents sneak aboard a borg cube
and detonate the transwarp core!
At that moment in time, funny was om noming the rest of Boggz ai base, when suddenly, a cube erupts into a billion pieces of debris. His reaction;. I laugh maniacly and explain I have an intel center hidden somewhere on the map. It then becomes a rush for him to kill it before I sabo him to death.
So his ships are racing around to the expansions at the ever languid pace of warp 1 while I am happily shoring up the numbers for a final assault.
He finds one of my bases, and I proceed to ambush him, first fleet is obliterated with the exception of the Tavara, however a cube also dies. Second fleet of leevhals ambush the diamond and obliterate it in two salvos with multiphasic disruptors. Cube exacts revenge and yet again, Tavara escapes.
Final confrontation outside my main base with the Tavara leading the way with multiple support refits staying at range while the Tavara on one ones the cube. Of course, being the dastardly Romulan that I am, I shield repair the Tavara every time the cube hits it until finally, kerboom!!!!!!!

Someday I'll be able to make a challenge..... 
But the closest thing to THAT is a set up of a 1 vs 3 vs 3 vs 1...

Wow I didnt know you wrote this thread. Lol I just asked you about this game and you said you didnt remember! Sorry for the really late thanks But I didnt technicaly win. You quit and I decided to just fly arround for 20 min chasing your ai. And after all that, he uses intell on my cubes

I left because I thought we had all basically agreed it was over.
We did agree it was over... That's why I sent ships on green alert to hand out at your last AI base. In fact thats why I said AI. Because we said it was over! In fact I had the game minimized for a half an hour lol.
