Not very economical tho

Since when have the klinks been concerned with economy?

Vorcha are an ok choice due to the fact that they can absorb much more punishment than other Klink ships, but they are slow to get out in numbers, due 10% less damage to long range, and are generally blasted from the sky because D-Rhienns have a 45 damage bonus opening shot very 2 minutes.  That alone lets just a few of them overpower a single large ship like a Vorcha or a Neghvar while Multi-Disruptor cleans up B'rel.

what are your alternatives though? kbq, small, so take full pulse damage, and will probably die on first volley. they have a special that is slightly more useful and will have more numbers, but until good numbers with spw are out, you wont hope to kill a drhienn, but they will kill kbqs. they are similar to vorchas, with vorchas you wont get kills early either, but at least they stand a better chance of staying alive to get their numbers and spw later.

brels way too weak, kvorts are small too and weaker defence than the kbq, also weak subsystems and not generally good at tanking, so they wont escape. susa, sang chargh and veq are torp spammers, wont work vs drhienns. the veq has the slim hope of using engine disabling torps to slow drhienns, but they can still cloak, the chargh can get combat tractor, but they are anti short, and armoury is needed, just as for vorchas.

qawduj with specials requires armoury too. neggies are out of reach on the tech tree. vutpa are high up too if u want their goodies.

there is no good choice for klinks against drhienn spam. all you can do is hold out as long as possible, and i think vorchas will allow you to stay alive with their general ability to tank damage.

There are no alternatives.  That's my point.

Then we should give the klinks an alternative. I don't want to see the rommie general ship become useless, tbh.

then we are in agreement :)

i think the drhienn needs a tiny bit of nerfing, as it is too easy to spam. i dont like spam.

klinks could use a counter though.

Maybe the supply cost should be slightly tweaked? A passive that makes it slightly weaker to short range?

a slightly higher supply cost, and a negative only passive. maybe all drhienns take 10% more damage from SR. so brels might do better.

I hate the idea of nerfing such a useful ship, but I do like the idea of making the klingons have a counter. Then every race would have a counter for them. It is of my opinion the dhrienns are expensive enough now that adding more cost would nullify their usefulness enitrely. I've had to just about "take out a loan" to finish my fleet having to pay through the nose for Rom ships with their terrible economy. (but 2 sec cloak makes it sooo worth it  :D )

I brouth up the idea for a 3rd Kli long range counter in 3.1.4 already, it led to adjustings of weapon fatigue :innocent:.
I also think nerfing DRhienns is necessary, as Boggz pointed out very nicely in the thread concerning the Rhienn. I'd love to have a Rhienn in the end that could be really countered by B'rels(not by one B'rel of course, it's too expensive for that, but by numbers of B'rels). Sth. that would represent the huge energy output that small ship must have would be nice, perhaps slower cloak, less speed, sth. like that. Or give Kaleh maneuver a hard downside(and reduce its damage), like additional damage from short range - that way the Rhienn would get hard countered by Monsoons, B'rels, S2s. And it would allow for tactics that mix with normal Rhienns who use their phase plates to tank.
In 3.1.4 I also suggested the Sang or ChonaQ for a long range passive, however, in terms of Rhienns that won't help much: Sangs have torps, Chonaq is the same yard as NeghVar, has a strange weapon and is quite slow.

I don't think nerfing the Rhienn-D-Refit is necessary. I just hope that the klingons get a stronger long-range-counter (May be the wing-movement for the K'Vort could turn these tides so that it deals more damage to long-rangers when wings are lowered)... everytime I play klingon vs romulan in 1v1 and my opponent fields lots of Rhienns, I lose x) Early Generix are far easier to counter in 1v1, Rhienns aren't. They deal too much damage in masses so B'rels and even K'BeajQ have trouble retaliating.
