Hamachi - confusion about starting a private game
Here you can arrange online encounters and reminisce over past online battles.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. First of all would like to say that I love the mod and a huge thumbs up to everyone who is/was involved in creating it. It is a superb job!
Now, I'm having a problem with Hamachi. I've used is before with other games but am having problems when it comes to FO. I'm trying to play a private game with my brother. We both installed Hamachi and have created a private network/lobby. Once we start up FO, I go into the Multiplayer, create a screen name, then click on LAN (TCP/IP) and it takes me into a lobby. Then I tell my brother tries to log into the lobby, however, he cannot see the game I create. We also tried it the other way, and had him create a game, but I cannot see it either. We also tried logging into FLOPS2 network on Hamachi. Once in the lobby there I could see some games going on but my brother still can't.
I would appreciate any help.
PS - I did read several other threads here regarding Hamachi and some of the ports (GameSpy ones) that need to be opened up, however, none of the info has enabled me to play a network game.

As long as both of you have the CD in, are in the same Hamachi network, have your firewall settings set appropriately, I don't see any reason why things shouldn't work (you have checked firewall stuff right?)

Hint1:
Go into your advanced network settings by right clicking on My Network Places and choosing Properties, then go to
Advanced > Advanced Settings..
then find the Hamachi network adapter and move it to the top, by selecting it and pressing the green up arrow
Once it is a the top, restart and try the game
Hint2: Try ForcebindIP, you need this little prog for playing certain games (I need it for starcraft over hamachi)
Install the prog then You need to make the link to your game like this >
C:WINDOWSsystem32ForceBindIP.exe 5.64.97.216 D:InstalledStarcraftstarcraft.exe
Replace the first bit with your location to the prog, replace the second bit with your Hamachi IP and the 3rd bit is the location of your game.
Good luck with those

Thanks for your suggestions guys.
Dominus_Noctis : We both have CDs of the game, but what firewall settings are you referring to? Do you mean the ports? If so, then could you post what settings need to be put in place?
disorder: I've already moved the Hamachi network up top for another game I was playing before so that's taken care of.
The strange things is that once I logged in to the FLOPS2 network, I could see games in the lobby, however, my brother could not.

It shouldn't be necessary to change any ports for Hamachi, but I was suggesting that perhaps a firewall (as in Norton's, Window's or ZoneAlarm etc) are known to stop games from showing up... soooo, maybe try fiddling around with that

I did turn off the firewall that comes with Windows XP, the only one I have now enabled is from the router. However, it seems though that my configurations are ok since I can actually see the games in the lobby once I've logged into the Hamachi FLOPS and FLOPS2 networks. My brother on the other hand cannot see any games at all, and that's the problem.

Hmm, that is very peculiar. I take it he is on the same network as you? Perhaps turning off your computer, and seeing if he can see games then might work? I'm just throwing any ideas out there...

No, he is in a different city, but we are both on the same Hamachi networks (FLOPS, FLOPS2, and our own private one). We both think that it might be his router now, since we've eliminated the possibility that mine is a problem.
The weird thing is that we were able to play other games on Hamachi just fine, but FO is giving us a headache.
Keep throwing out ideas man
