Hi all, I'm on tunngle as #1klingon. I've noticed very few people want to do 1v1s! I remember playing starcraft and being able to play many 1v1s and get better. However most people on FO like to do 2v2, 3v3, etc.

Even though I am very new to the game, I have no problem playing boggz, OTP, arash, denarius, and all the other great players. I don't care if I get owned as I benefit from playing against the best...........I can only get better and learn.

I would like to do a tournament involving a cash prize.....this would motivate some players to play more games so that they can win the tournament and more videos for all of us. There could be a prize for 1st place to 4th place.

Anyone wanna donate money? I can put up some money for this tournament and then other donations can increase it much bigger!!!

Games would be Best of 3 and then final would be Best of 5 or 7....makes no sense to have the final a best of 3. All matches would be recorded so that noobs like myself can watch and learn strategies.

What does everyone think?

Well Ray and I have dibbs on the next tournament. But if you would like to add this to our tournament, or combine it, it could be pretty epic. Ray and I have some pretty cool ideas to implement

Prehaps team matches with Armada play, have two players on a team, on the same armada, playing against another two players doing the same thing.

Ah ok... So armada is an option

For balance I would have a 2vs2 tournament set up with one good player and one noob player set together. For example set Crisis and Me up against two players of somewhat equal standing.

At the end of the day I can't see a accurate way of determining skill levels as everyone plays differently with different factions and depending on who they play determines their level and the way they play.

Yeah but that's kind of harsh man. Who's to tell who has more skill or not? There is no way to get balanced teams for an entire tournament. I mean take a few weeks off from this game and you can lose a lot of skill. Also you would have to take into account how people would interact with each other. I mean I would love to see a team tourney, but there are many obstacles to overcome.

As long as there are no faction rules such a tournament is pointless...ppl  that really want to win will just take double mayson and steamroll you...or take triple mayson in 3v3 which is even worse.

I was never meant to be harsh, I am sorry if I offended. On a side note, I think of myself as a poor player.

That's right, lure the opponent into a false sense of security  :borg:

2v2s are much different than 1v1s but not sure of the teams. Perhaps a random number is given out and you are placed with someone randomly

Look up "Jack 'n' Jill" dancing competitions. They have a structure where 2 individuals make up a team (dancing pair) and that team competes with other teams. You could adopt that structure of tournement to FO 2v2's.

I think that people can be pretty honest when it comes to how good they are. :innocent:  for example, I stink. :sweatdrop:  Majestic can probably beat me into a bloody pulp now. :ermm:

If you did a 2v2 torni with a noob player and an experienced player team, I might be in.  For example, rate players from 1-10 and match them up with someone else to make an even 10(or as close as possible with the people who enter).  We could have the most experienced players rate the others. and vote on the final decisions.  I honestly don't have a problem with being rated by others.

If teams are random, you have the opportunity of getting 2 really good players on the same team, and that would not be a very fair match.  If you rated players as either master or novice, and then matched up a random novice with a master, that might work out better.

I would look forward to an opportunity to play on a team with someone who can teach me how to get better, in a tournament setting. :woot:
