Hey people I have a very strange problem. Whenever I try to join other people their games I keep getting a message telling me that the host has another game version than me.
Now I talked with the people in Tunngle FO lobby about that and they linked me to the inoffocial Trigger Block fix file. But even with this file I still keep getting the error message.
I also reinstalled FO twice now to see if it makes a difference they even sent me their personal trigger block files but it was the exact same file like here:
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Fixing the Triggers
Meaning that I already had it. And still the incorrect version message. They said they dont use any other modified files and I believe them so what am I doing wrong?
I installed FO 3.1.4 then patched it to FO 3.1.5 then installed the multimedia pack and on the end replaced the buggy block file with the new one from the link above.
Am I missing something? Or are there any special settings I need to over see first? I'm clueless right now and so they were. Well at least I can see the hoster their games what is a good sign now I just need find a way to join them.

I've got the exact same problem at the moment. I don't know what's going on with that.

Hmmm that's odd. Just to clarify, are the games you see through Tunngle a light green color or are they white?
If they are white then you are running the version that host is running. If they are green then there is a difference.
Are you seeing white colored games and yet still getting the message? Does it come up when TRYING to join the game or does it happen inside the game when the host tries to launch?

If you changed a file that's not a texture or sound file, the other games would need the exact same change. Made any changes that aren't a texture or sound file?

He told he has reinstalled several times and just included the fixed small blocking triggers. Which I did, too.

Light green? I must be getting old to confuse light-green with yellow... However that's how the games appear to me in the lobby.

hey boggz, u say you see green for version, i see yellow for version mismatch. are these different errors or are we just perceiving the colour slightly differently?
if u have reinstalled 3.1.4 then 3.1.5, then that trigger patch then u should have a good version.
thing is not everyone has installed the trigger patch, so some people might be using vanilla 3.1.5 and thats why u have a different version from them.

Ok so they are yellow, indicating a different version.
Keep in mind that there are a lot of people who are newer to the community who have opted not to add the blocking trigger fix. I regularly see a mix of games I can join and games with different versions. Is that a possibility?

Well I was just recalling from memory. Frankly I don't pay much heed to the games I can't join so I guess I never got a real handle on what color it was. I knew it was off-white but memory told me it was slightly green .

Guys thank you very much for your kind support. But it isn't necessary anymore I fixed it really did.
And I won my first mp game in FO. First mp game and already victorious I love it.
Ok here is what I did for everyone else with the problem try it as well maybe it'll help.
2 times before I simply deleted the main folder. this time I uninstalled it using the uninstaller.exe it removed additional savegames and user profile settings that weren't deleted before I guess. I believe they were stored outside the FO main folder.
If that's the case then this should be your solution run the uninstaller inside the main FO folder and reinstall it. It works like a charme now. Good luck.

yup, fleetops has data files outside the main directory. the best way to uninstall (and i presume the only way that the devs will offer support for) is to use the provided uninstaller, which has no issues as far as i know.
