cannot delete old message

Hi,

I'd like to start off by saying that the new website looks great and alot of the old annoyances are no longer an issue. I made one small problem observation though... I have a message in my inbox from back in 2009. I went to delete it and I cannot now that the forum has been upgraded.

Is there a way to purge my message box?

EDIT: let me add more details, when I delete the message the website dialog pops up telling me that the message has been deleted successfully but when I go back into my message box the message is still there. I have tried logging out and back in with a fresh browser etc. but the message is remains.

Thanks optec, can you see the logs?

Let me know if you need anything else. It's not a big deal just weird and I want to make sure it isnt a bigger problem with the forum coding.

Hi,

I have the same problem. When I deleted the message it was still there, now showing this text instead of the messages' headline:

DELETE MESSAGE

This message has been removed by its author before it was delivered.


Marking and deleting doesn't do anything, it just won't go away (this message reminds me of Q).

Thanks for responding. I do not believe we are experiencing the same issue because I do not see the message which you stated regarding: "This message has been removed by its author before it was delivered."

message deleting by ticking the messages in overview doesn't seem to work as it seems. neither with new, nor with old messages. it worked for me when opening the message and selecting delete from the little arrow drop-down in the upper right hand corner of the message.
we'll look into that.
i have also tried to fix the "DELETE MESSAGE" errors. not sure if i have done it right. please let me know.
overall private message system needs more work.

Hi DOCa,

I was able to delete it by selecting the little arrow drop down from the message itself like you suggested. I had not seen that menu before because it is quite small.

But yes it still does not work when marking it to delete using the check box but thats ok as long as there is a work around.

yes, i've noticed the same thing with the arrow drop-down not being optimal at the private message view. put that on our list for improvements
