Problems Updating Account

Hi guys. So, after the update happened, I realized I couldn't access my account. Okay, no problem, it was mentioned and others were having trouble logging in too. I had to wait a few days to reset my password, as I had used my brother's email when I first joined.

So I reset my password and I logged in, and it worked, but then the problems started. I went to change my password back, and to change the email to my own, but it reset back to what it was before when I logged out and back in to make sure it worked - despite the fact that it acknowledged it while I was still logged in. I kept having to log in with the temproary password, and it reset the email back to my brother's, but when I tried to update it, it told me that my email was already in use, even though my account wasn't using it at all. I eventually had to put in my brother's email to even get it to acknowledge the password change, and it asked me to use that password while I was trying to update the email, but as soon as I logged out to test it, it reverted back to the temp password again.

I was just wondering if anybody else is having or has had this problem since the forums were updated? It's very frustrating for me, but it's not neccessarily that big of a deal.

EDIT: Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I looked at all the boards and this one seemed the most suitable, but if it isn't, my apologies.

It kept staying on temp password for me because the password I tried changing it to contained an ampersand (&) (I think this is a carry-over from the old site, hopefully Optec or Doca can clarify what exactly is going on with that). Try a password with only alphanumeric characters.
EDIT: I think all my posts should be with "lightgrey" color from now on. I like the increased contrast.

@Nebula: Nope, no ampersand, just letters. What's happening with mine, though, is not that it won't change the password (by "staying on temp password", that's what I'm assuming you mean), but that it's acknowleding that the password is different and changing it, but then reverting it back to the temp password as soon as I log out.

@Optec: Hi Op. Nope, I have not used my email for anything on this site at all, except a few days ago when I tried to update this account with it. Since nobody else except Nebula seems to be having this problem, maybe it's something on my end? But I'm not sure what it could be, either on my end or on you guy's.

Thanks Doca, I think it worked. At least, the password didn't reset, so that's good. However, I went into the account options and it shows up the original email still, so I'm not sure if it actually changed it or not. It's not necessarily a big thing like the password was, though, but it is a little annoying.

Hi. I realize it's been almost two months, but I'm still having a problem with the email. My brother keeps receiving emails from the site in his email, and he starting to get a little annoyed. It still shows up that his email is the one assigned to my account, and it still won't let me change the email to my own, for reasons that I don't know.

For now, I disabled users and admins being able to send emails, but that's doesn't solve the problem, not really. Eh, I just don't know. Got any advice after two months with the redesign?
