Why are mods repeatedly changing thread titles ?

Original title was: OK WHICH OF YOU GUYS DID IT
or something quite similar
First it gets renamed to [youtube]- some text I forget here
Then I notice and post asking about it, and that post vanishes AND the title changes again.

they didnt rename your gowron pooping thread. that was always called klingon waste extraction chant to my memory.

they renamed your thread about the guy robbing a shop with a batleth.

in the time you've been here you should have seen the fact that the mods don't like thread titles that are all caps, or that are vague/misleading, the previous title was both in caps and didnt let people know what the thread was about. mods have publicly renamed threads like this before. it should be common sense, there shouldnt need to be a forum rule specifying acceptable titles.

i'm gonna put this reply in this thread cos this is where this topic is.

In that case, we must do a mandatory categorization system for thread titles so we know to what it relates............. oh wait, thats what the board it gets posted in is for .....

nobody said that.

the things that they have shown evidence they dont like in titles are: all caps and titles not describing the thread.

you didnt need to put a category tag or anything in the title.

a title that might have been left alone would be "man robs shop with batleth"

that isnt in all caps, and mentions the general idea of the thread.

IE: I sarcasticly asked which of the trekkies here on the fourm was the guilty party in the video, and the fact that it was a video would become readily apparent the moment they open the thread, and the fact that it's in the general section would give a big hint that (along with the title) it is a humor thread.

Obviously that went right over some heads, however.

lol you can't seriously think that blunt joke went over anybody's head can you? we all got your (attempted) humour (but thanks anyway for the awkardly condescending complete explanation of the joke). but there is a time and a place for humour. in the thread for example is the place for humour.

the thread's title is an organisational thing. people should be able to avoid a thread if they arent interested in its contents. such as roleplaying, some people just mark those read without viewing them. thats why the roleplayers here make it clear what the thread is about.

its a pretty basic expectation in a forum that the thread title would describe the contents of the thread. i doubt you will find many forums where that isnt an expectation.

so Tok`ra, what's the deal here? i got various complains from members about you in the past, not to mention those from other moderators. now a thread like this? plus, you have already been warned by the other mods - and now i also do for the very last time.
