Holy @#$% there were a dozen people killed and 59 more injured at Aurora, Co midnight showing! The guy popped up out of nowhere(some say already in the theater; others through the emergency exit) in the theater dressed in actual full on SWAT gear, gas mask and a trenchcoat to hide what he had. First he set off a gas bomb then started unloading on all of the movie-goers while they were still in their seats with an AR15, a shotgun, two 40 cal pistols and a knife. Oh my God the apparent first victum was a baby at point blank! Cops were already there doing crowd control outside but ofcourse they had to get through everyone trying to get out. They said he had his hair died red and was calling himself The Joker. The caught up to him at a car behind the theater then arrested him. Told the cops that he had a bomb in his car but actually didn't and that his appartment was bobby-trapped(very complex) which it was. He had just gotten his Bach. degree in neuroscience(could very much be relevent, you know an experiment since your mind does go crazy in this kind of situation and he wanted to know how it truely felt...very possible) then suddenly dropped out a month ago. Thing is how did he know which screen the movie was going to be shown at if he did come from the emergency exit? And where did he get the money to buy everything? Especially all the SWAT/riot gear since you can't just buy that stuff at any gun/surplus store. This is just crazy.

A very sad situation, and to see how random bad things just happens it's scary! I bet this wacko just wanted to be remembered for all this.
One of the victims just escaped from a shooting the month before, just to be killed in a movie theater. Very sad.

This is very sad. I actually already heard about it too. Its hard find words to say when these things happen.
What is also sad is that people will again tag death and psychosis with these movies considering Heath Ledger committed suicide after the last one, only giving the movies a worse rep than they already have.

Background checks for gun ownership spiked 40% as of Monday wow.
He claimed he was the Joker but the Riddler is the one with the red hair Joker always has green. His hair was more orange anyways.
A really wierd thing is one of the previews shown(now removed) with DKR is American Gansters(1920's movie) and one of the scenes is of a shootout in a crowded theater so they will now be removing that scene from the movie itself.

they're afraid that another massacre will prompt the us to tighten its lax gun controls.
personally i think that'll never happen, once people have guns it's hard to take them away

but seriously, after every us massacre there's talk of stricter gun control, it's like talk of half life 3. these things will never happen.

It's giving the far right a good opportunity to try and spread FUD about it though -- I saw a blatant scare piece urging people to resist a "UN gun grab treaty". This is despite the fact that no such treaty exists; and a proposed arms trade treaty (currently under discussion), which aims to provide an effective regulatory framework for international arms trading, would have no bearing on it.
Still, it's a way for certain interests to keep people angry about the fact that a black dude is in the White House.

as if the UN is a threat to anybody's guns, the UN is so indecisive that when it sneezes it can't unanimously agree to blow its nose.
