Is it legal to own a real M16 in England? All I can find is US legality info.

I like anything made by Ruger so sure

You would need a licence to own any gun in the UK and have to be registered with the Police, so they know what you've got. However, I believe certain guns are just plain not allowed. To my knowledge, the M16 is one of them.

I myself would love to get a Recurve Bow and do a bit of Archery!

Im sure its not but if you want to know for sure check to see if the law allow for automatic weapons or in the case of an m16 burst fire weapons.

if the m16 is capable of automatic fire, then no, as all automatic weapons are banned since 1937

for semi automatic weapons you need good reason to own a firearm in the uk. good reasons are work related or legitimate sporting needs.

an m16 would not be appropriate for any work outside of military or other state forces.

for sport i doubt any m16 would be appropriate either. so i highly doubt m16s are permitted in uk. unless u had a very good specific reason.

EDIT: maybe at a gun club u could shoot them.
