Goodbye

Well all those other people are right. This is really not the same community it used to be, people like Kamk ruin it for everyone and I'm sick of listening to him and the others like him. I have wasted enough time playing this game. Its a great mod and the Devs have done an excellent job, but I'm sick of this community because for some reason all the really great people that made this community great have left or are never on, and its to bad because this community used to be great. Have fun flopsing guys and sorry about not staying boggz to finish our game (you would have won) but I'm way to busy to spend the little free time I have putting up with this. Goodbye all and fuck you Kamk

Fallout I don't know how to say this but now I have no choice so here goes...

The child is yours.  I don't know how or when, but I've spent a long time thinking and I want to keep it.  I don't know what I can say, I know it's a shock and I shouldn't expect anything from you, but if you weren't going to be around anymore I just don't know what I'd do.

So please, just think about it for a while, or don't think about it.  Just...

Please don't leave me  :(

Hm, I have no idea what happened... but I'd like to ask you just to take a little while to think about it (and also to keep user-oriented problems off the forums, and on the PM system). :)

People cycle on and off, and there will always be somebody someone else has trouble with. These issues pop up on a semi-regular basis, and although it is unfortunate, it is important to understand that that is what makes up a population. Not everybody gets along sadly, but it is nothing new.

Take for instance, Redmanmark - he has been playing a huge amount regularly, after almost a year long hiatus (not counting the 'every 3-month match'). At the time he stopped playing, there were players that did not get along with us, and people were aware of that. Here we have the cycle of players returning, and the cycle of players who don't get along. If it's necessary to take a breather, so be it - but we will welcome you back when you return, and there will be loads of games!

Dear fa11out, Crisis and i were pretty much bored (of waiting for players) and flamed / jinxed each other in  the Tunngle-Chat. Then you got involved and replied / talked the same way as we did before, and thats how the weird part started:

...i think you got us, well basically me, quite wrong.
Nothing of it was meant to be personal or even serious at all, just random shit chat to pass the waiting time. None of the players had a bad mood that time, neither did we take anything serious on teamspeak or tunngle, neither is that our, and my, common way to interact.

I'm really sorry that i somehow hurt your personal feelings and / or game experience, it definitely wasn't meant to be, and it would be a pity if you leave the game / community cause of this.

I can't stand one or two players myself (basically only cause of their whining and quitting), and the best way to deal with the situation: don't interact, and just ignore them - in this case you're free to ignore me. And last but not least: no hard feelings from my side, no matter what, and btw. there never has been.

people like Kamk

Just one of the trolls that is explaining strategy and tactics to the people that are here for ages and one that does not care about fairness (e.g. doesn't see any problem with 2 warpins feds in one team or Dodespamming all day). Those new ppl lack the experience from the old days with super OP strats like Kvort/Breen/Intrepid spam that ruined whole games.

What I do since a while is stop playing with those ppl if they start annoying me. Even if that means that I can't play a single game for the day since so few ppl are online. The fact is that my free time became too valuable to spend it with rubbish games (in a sense of bad teams on stupid maps). I which that we could see who is online when in Tunngle so we can arrange a bit our on-times to build good teams.

That's no good. I'm sorry it had to end this way for you. I hope you decide to either stay or come back soon.

This reply is just for Drrrrrr, and not at all about or at fallout.

I've played this game years ago, of course i still don't have your overall play time, but anyways:
what's your point?
What the hell does this have to do with this topic at all?

Just one of the trolls that is explaining strategy and tactics to the people that are here for ages and one that does not care about fairness

Are you kidding me?

It's really funny to see that you abuse this topic as an opportunity to elaborate your annoying attittude and latest harassments.

It's even more interesting that only a hand full of people moan about these strategies all day long, while the rest seems to change their own gameplay to adapt, or tries to contribute in a useful kind with specific topics, instead of whining any time, any place, they see a chance to do so.
Even more interesting that you're one of the few people who permanently quits games and kills a complete match with no particular reason - so much about tactics, fairness, attitude.

It's still funny that you started this crap right after i just disagreed with your recent whining, me, the "newcomer"
- how can i not agree with you.
Un·be·liev·a·ble.
How can i share the interest of other people and play something else than broken borders 24/7. How can i like these well made community maps by Boggz, Tryptic, Stargazer, Tiger (and so on) that many people enjoy playing.
Un·be·liev·a·ble.
And how can i not have a problem to play vs. 2 feds, or 2 borg, or getting dode spamed?
Un·be·liev·a·ble.
I tell you my secret: stop quitting, adapt, and start to communicate with your teammates.
Un·be·liev·a·ble.

And how do you win any match, any competition, any argument?
I don't know, ask Boggz propably, but it's definitely not by saying "im around here longer than you guys, so let me win with the same strategy that worked centuries ago!"

Last but not least:
the most "un·be·liev·a·ble" part: i dislike duels, so i just don't play them. Wow, what an idea.
so, you don't like playing against 2 feds? Then don't do it, but please stop telling everyone else what map to play, which race and strategy to chose, and how the game mechanics are so fucked up - no matter what the person is actually doing.
Except you're winning of course, haven't seen you bitching after the game we played together, or you won at all - must be a coincidence.
I'm not saying FO is perfectly balanced, there are quite a few minor things, but especially in team games you do most of the damage with a good strategy and communication - think about it.

P.S.: And why do i care about the oppinion or strategy by many many people in this community, even including new ones, but not about yours? These people have the endurance to come up with new ways and show possibilites in real bad looking situations, instead of moaning and quitting.

I think you missed Dominus' post, didn't you?

Fa11out leaving is not the way to solve the problem and will only ruin the small community we have...

Every community has its problems with people not liking each other and usually when a game is huge and popular it can be missed but flops community is just too small right now so only comes across more apparent.

Now i don't like everyone i play with, and god knows there are people out there who hate me and if you randomly didnt know me and Dom and joined in our conversation you'd think "what the fuck, why are these two people together, all they do is hate on each other and shout" but its the complete opposite, its actually our form of banter and if you heard how we say it then it might come across that way... However if we typed it then looses all feeling and will be felt how YOU read it and that is the problem with online text, it can be interpreted different ways.

So basically just think that maybe sometimes what you read isn't how it is meant and as for people online getting on your nerves, do what i do and ignore them and play how you like... for me its not about winning but the banter in trying to win :)

P.S. Also if you leave the new people who join will only have mean people to play with, in the last week alone we have had 4/5 people join including Blackpoison and Captain "sumin" so play with them :)

Yes further fracture a community rather than just ignore someone....theres a blacklist button right.

Startrek communitys are like watching soap operas i suppose thats what happens when you mix virtual social interaction with really strange people namely startrek fans.
