Short setup explanation here first; my brother and i used to share a computer about 10 - 15 years ago, and he changed the old XP startup sound many times to fit his star trek inspired themes. as he was a huge borg fanboy i got used to having the borg comment on everything i decided to do. error message appear, and i hear "regenerate primary shield matrix!" and if i shut down the computer, a desperate borg collective shouted "we require regeneration!". i never knew what i'd hear when i booted up the computer, usually some new quote from the borg queen tempting me to be assimilated. but one day when i booted up the computer, (regretfully with the volume turned rather high on the speakers) i was greeted with a audio distress call from some federation starship stating it'd been overrun by the borg. there's alot of audio distortion like the ship is badly damaged, and the clip runs at least 30 seconds (making it definitely a startling sound to hear when booting up the computer).
what i remember from the clip is "this is the USS. ______ ___________ -we've been overun by the borg! ____ -require assistance __________ -sector 01- ______"
i realize this isnt much to go on, but can anyone help me refind this audioclip? trying to use it for a sound project, and google hasnt helped me find it. any search including "borg" "distress call" and or "star trek" just brings me to STO wiki on borg encounters. which, its safe to say this clip predates by a few years.
the clip may be from another star trek game, i cant remember.
