actually a recent development for video gaming is using the web to stream the game's graphics output as video to any device.
So it simulates the interface needed and you send the commands to a remote server which actually runs the game on a compatible os. Then the remote server streams back video of what happens. It works on ipad playing games such as unreal tournament 3. It requires a fat internet connection though. So my university wifi (that i'm using now) is definitely out. But high speed wireless and wired connections will allow systems that can process video to play graphics intensive games, as the server does the graphics work.
armada 2 would work like this if someone wanted to offer it.

Yeah, but why would you want to? The interface would be nightmarish to use at best. So in the words of Dr. Doom, "Blah! I am beyond it and its simplicities!"

for games designed to work with keyboard and mouse, yes it creates interface issues. FPS on a ipad would be weird. a2 would be better, but still stuff isnt right. like distinguishing between left and right clicking. touchscreens cant do that as well. hotkeys would be difficult as there is no keyboard. and an on screen keyboard would take away screen space.
what it does allow is for someone to buy a cheap computer and use it to do high end things as long as a solid internet connection is available, as all the work is done remotely.

are you kidding me? that big multi touch screen interface wold be perfect for that kind of stragety games.. and it would level up the fun, just look at red alert for the ipad..
anyway

That looks like an extremely simple game. So im sure it works just fine besides it was "designed" to work on the Ipad. Oh yeah an one other thing keyboard and mouse > touchscreen every time.

There is no way on hells earth that fleet ops would ever work on the ipad.
a1 perhaps but not a2 just doesnt have the hardware inside it capable of running it.
Theres a new pad coming out the motorola device that has the tegra 2 chipset this is a dual core cpu running at 800Mhz each i believe and have a powerful gpu, this has the technical specs to run something like a2 but as for porting it ehhhhh....

iPad also uses A4 processor, which is based on ARM architecture, not on x86 architecture

That could be worked around as it has been for other projects but anyway my theory was based on hardware not software needs like directx ect

programming an app for ios that would run armada 2 would be impossible. you would never get the required permissions and the apple ipad just cant do what armada 2 needs from a computer.
the only way an ipad will ever play armada 2 is by the remote gaming concept i described.

If you where to get it to work on ipad it would be creating allot of credibility for a brand you could create with it that could be a springbord for other applications that could bring in the Benjamins.

You are wasting your talent if you not ether earning money for self or earning money for a cause and I am not talking about the scraps you get from donations.
