Joystick Broke, I'll be online a lot more

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

Well, since my joystick broke and I have no way to control the race car and no way to control aircraft in flight simulators.  I'll be spending a bit more time on Fleet Ops until I can get the G27 racing wheel.  I'm a bit rusty on my strategies though.

You can get a good joystick at a good price over at Amazon.com.

I want the G27, not another joystick.  Throttle, Brake, and Clutch Peddles with a 6-speed stick shifter and 700-degree configurable wheel rotation.  Best device for racing simulators!

Besides, for flight simulators, I'm wanting the Saitek Pro Flight system.

What does that have to do with anything?

All I'm saying is that I'm going to be playing Fleet Ops a lot more until I get my racing wheel.

I have two. :D bought them for $10 each at my local Target.  i also have the Logitech Extreme, Saitek ST290, three different microsoft joysticks(one so old it doesn't have usb), a couple reaally old ones who's names were lost in time, and a Wheel with pedal system. :D

Plus a few Ps3 controllers that I hook up to my PC via bluetooth.

Yeah, I have played alot of flight syms in my time.  Mostly those by interplay though.(descent 1/2 freespace, etc) Armada was my first RTS though.  before that, I exclusively played simulator games.

You might want to try rFactor, or ASR then.  They're simulators too.  ASR is the newer simulator.  rFactor is the most modder friendly simulator.

Racing simulators or flight simulators?  I am not too fond of racing sims and if I feel like it I play GT5.  I love me a good flight sim though.

rFactor and ASR are racing simulators.  Best out there.  iRacing is excluded from the list because of their "Online Only" service.

And not to mention that you have to pay hundreds a year to play with most people. :pinch: No thanks i'll stick with ASR and NR2K3.

That's not all.  You don't get to keep your car setups if your subscription expires.  Plus since there's no trial, you have to pay for I think a 3-month period just to see if you like it.

I'll stick with rFactor and NR2003.  I would like to try ASR though and I can't wait to try rFactor!  I've heard a lot of good things about ASR.

Many drivers and others(Larry Mac) in the sport say that the cars handle just like the real thing moreso than iRacing and therefore everything else.

Yet another reason not to use iRacing.
