lol i think kestrels point is that it is a direct spin off from the british show pop idol. which is an indirect copy of many other talen shows throughout history in many countries. the simple show idea isnt exactly something to be proud/defensive of.

still nice to see more diversity a transgendered contestant is deff different and sounds great (who needs a duet wen she can do both lol)
