How do you pronounce the name of the Cheyenne Class?

shy-AN

emphasis on the second syllable. that's how to pronounce the name of the native american people called the cheyenne, and i presume that's where the ship class derives its name.

native american words make good ship names, lakota is one too.

Pretty sure it's pronounced 'Shy Anne', like a girl who blushes when you talk to her and doesn't look you in the eye   ;)
If you've watched the last samurai then listen to how Tom Cruise says it

Thank, it feels odd commanding a ship and not even knowing what to call it.

Starfleet seems to like Native American names, they also have the Crazy Horse.

o yeah, epic name. if they did a lost era trek series i'd want the crazy horse to be an e1 and make lots of appearances helping out the ent c.

so many puns to make. :pinch:

Wasn't the Crazy Horse an Excelsior-1 anyway?

yeah it got mentioned with some stock footage of the ent with an e1. it's canon, but weak as canon goes and there's a risk that they'd change it, so i felt it necessary to say i'd definitely want it to be an e1. not just because it had a canon appearance as e1, but because i think a series with an e1 in a big role would be fun. i'd love to see them deal with having 2 main ships, maybe those 2 ships (ent c and crazy horse) are assigned to same area, and work together a lot. would open a lot of doors.

Yes it was an Excelsior from the tng episode "Descent" when the admiral lectured Picard on losing Hugh to the Borg. It is preceived to be a Excelsior Class but the encylopidia says its a Cheyenne class. What do they know anyway.
