I can agree with this list for the most part. And for the record 3 is on there because for its time it was a pretty damn awsome game. Its gameplay was pretty cool. The list wansnt the top 10 graphically impressive Star Trek games. But I must say I'm kinda suprised Star Trek A Final Unity didnt make the list, nor some of the earlier Starfleet Command games. I could see either one of these games being on the list over Star Trek Invasion, even Dominion War I could see being on the list instead of Invasion.

"you think with such a lucrative franchise, someone would've made a decent game by now"

sadly the latest star trek game (just called star trek, because raisins) is all the proof you need that good franchises can be crammed into terrible games.

also these quacks thing ds9 the fallen and star trek invasion are good games. lol.

the fallen is bad on nearly every gameplay level imaginable. movement is clumsy and unenjoyable, the gunplay somehow found a way to be even clumsier and less enjoyable, every gun feels like firing a super soaker (weak and runs out of water frequently). it also regularly features keycards that are put on the opposite side of the map from the door said keycard opens, a cheap attempt at pretending the game has more content than is actually provided.

the story is like my last visit to the toilet, slow, boring, and it smelled really bad. this game needed its story to come to the rescue, but it's worse than fanfiction.

this game could've been great, a 3rd person shooter with heavy story reliance is probably the star trek game that could be most like the show without being dull.

invasion was just plain repetitive. it's a clone of colony wars but far less enjoyable. it crams the same sort of colony wars game mechanics into a universe where they don't belong. it's also nowhere near as fun to play as colony wars, the controls are worse, the gameplay way more repetitive. have i told you how repetitive the game is?

another game that could have been fun to play, if they'd managed to accurately duplicate colony wars better.

i agree with bridge commander and elite force scoring highly. they were 2 good games.

Did they really play the games? - I don't think so.

The only thing I can do is laughing at this - sorry.

All in all there are some games I still enjoy from time to time...

While I agree with you on Invasion Myles, I have to disagree with you on the Fallen, I grant you some of the gameplay elements (like the keycards and constantly having to scan force fields for the frequencies and such) got rather annoying I have to say I loved the atmosphere. The level design was pretty good too IMO from a detail standpoint. Like its one of the few trek games where you get to walk around on a starship where the layout makes any semblance of sence when compared to the shows. And the payed attention to details like when your playing Worf on the Defiant, you actually felt like it was the Defiant and no just random corridors that are skinned to look like starship corridors. Like in Elite force 2 and especially in STO, the ship interiors dont really make sense when you consider what ship its inside of, I was running through and Excelsior class ship in EF2 and it had the engine room of a galaxy class and when you looked at the mini map the layout just had no semblace of a starship interior, it just looked like random corridors connected to each other.

I guess I might just be nitpicky like that but those thing always pop into my mind when playing a Trek game and your inside a ship, If the layout doesnt feel right I ruins some of the experiance for me. And I remember the graphics being pretty good in the Fallen, but maybe Im looking at the game through nastalgia goggles and should load it back up (assuming it would even run on modern hardware) and try it again.

i suppose it can be down to how much a person is invested in a series, im not that fussed about the 1st series (until the films that is) so for someone who does enjoy that series would likely enjoy it more.

about the DS9 game, the more someone is a fan of a series the more they might be likely to give a bad game slack just to enjoy that universe.. or be even more critical of it from there hope of it too i suppose (havnt played it personally)

i loved ds9, it's my favourite trek show. still can't accept the annoying gameplay in the fallen.

i will grant equinox that it does better with ship interiors than ef2. but that isn't enough to catch it before it hits the ground for me. "fallen" is right.

I liked the one where you could either be the feds/klingons or the dominions/cardassians and you had space battles. Forgot the name of it but it was fun. Too bad it won't run on new systems. :(

ds9 dominion wars? that's a game that didn't do so well due to so many bugs.

it's from the same publisher that brought us ds9 the fallen, simon and shitster. they should've stayed with books and crosswords.

And then there was ST DAC. The ST 2009 blueray's commercial featured more time with shots of the movie than the actual gameplay. My reaction when I saw that game: :o

Star Trek could give rise to some pretty awesome stuff if the owners weren't so obsessed with selling the thunder as fast as possible. Their efforts by any standard are pathetic. Producers and directors knew about ST 2009 for years which is more than enough time to dev the industry's top games.

But nuuuu, they want bs churned out so fast that its like they keep herds of sickly bulls hopped up on ex-lax.

Fortunately, there are those gems among the interwebs like those at FO who actually give a flying ****. Keep it up, gents.

1) Birth of the federation
2) Armada
3) Bridge Commander
4) Starfleet Academy
5) Elite Force 1+2
6) Starfleet Command
7) New Worlds

Too bad I didn't get my hands on many of the games mentioned in the vid, esp. Klingon Academy and SFC 3. But I guess with games it's absolutely dependant on what genre you like. For my taste Bridge Commander had the best Star Trek feeling, Botf's only problem was to base the economy on money.

Surprised Klingon Honor Guard isn't getting any mentions. That was a fun shooter based on the original Unreal engine.
