They have just posted a date now hopefully they will stick to it, should be a decent start trek game to pass the long lobby waits in fleet ops.

This will also be a part of it... heck... January is a long time to wait! My abo just ended because I thought it wasnt worth the money to pay for another month...but now?

Heh, you cheeky boy! You beat me to it!

I looked at the features matrix and the free account doesn't seem to be that bad... just comparative to all the other free games you get out there, you only pay for the "gravy".

I've played it up til lvl 48, you can certainly make do without all of that stuff, but the inventory and banking limits might be a bit harsh for what I was used to 
One of the good things about STO though is that with all the crappy loot you get you can make some really good money
