Okay, I've got a question. Does anybody know how to win a 1 on 2 game against AI hard Borg and AI hard Dominion? Anyone? Anyone at all?  Everytime I play as Romulans or Feds I get crushed instantly. If anyone has a startegy with this that wins I'd appreciate that.

Play 1v1 then lol.

I think it would be real hard to beat them both though, I certainly cant do it lol. Well depends on the map, maybe on Nirvana map.

As the Feds i'd say build half a dozen maxed stations and 300 torpedo launchers. As the rommies..... good luck!

Torpedo platform spam works on Nirvana. My post re this, and image of my grid is here : //www.fleetops.net/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,3/topic,5270.msg87895/#msg87895

Basically on Nirvana, you have to send out construction ships as fast as possible to set up mining in the other sectors (dont go for the middle, you wont live). As long as you dont build offensive stuff in those sectors, the AI dont usually bother you. Then you have to just destroy waves, and try and get out there with Excelsior-II fleets in between waves.

Edit - You'll learn to hate nanites. For 90% of that match, I was playing "Click the moving UI". I really don think games should ever mess around with the UI. Ah well. But maybe the nanites could disappear after infecting you? The Borg were firing them at my platforms and the next wave would almost be there before they were gone.

build a strike force as fast as u can and kill the borg while they are still young and not built up..then pray u can get ur forces back in time to defend ur base against the dominion.....it is really tough...ur best bet then is to turtle up for awhile with long range weaponry while at same time trying to build a strike force of excelsior 2s...I managed to do this today actually....it took awhile and the dominon forces moved on me as soon as I had killed the borg....btw I was playing the daka coridor map and playing as mayson..romulans....hmmmm I have no clue with them...prayer perhaps?

That's what I hate about the Super Blooper in Mario Kart. I really don't like "special effects" that screw with the UI, particularly in a game that mixes human and computer players.

Playing Mayson, I can beat any AI on Normal and probably most of the time on Hard except for the Borg. Still trying to figure out how to beat the Borg. Combining Borg with Dominion or even Klingons sounds like a whole lot of not-fun.

Well in 307 the AI is considerably weaker than in was in 306, so this is possible now :) Before, no way you would be able to kill off the Borg and hold off the Dominion lol, they just have too much shit when combined.
But now, its doable IMO

yeah 3.0.7 it is posible that was the only way I did it....to be honest Im dispointed in the AI now......I remeber In 3.0.5a the dominion 5 minutes after the match started spaming dozens of v-13s at me....now THAT was no fun.....I didnt play 3.0.6 much though..cause of issues that needed fixed but I saw what the borg were doing via the forum and my god......
Anyways I feel the AI needs to be stronger now...merciless is not merciless to me lol.

Play on the lowest gamespeed. Then you can do more things simultaneously like the AI does.

On AI Normal, base was flooded with about twenty Scoutcubes and Assimilators about 15 minutes into the game playing Instant Action. By that time, I was just up to building my Imperial Yard. Suffice to say my K'Vorts didn't last very long.

Ive noticed the Ai tends to play diferently on dif maps.....like for example when I beat the dominion and borg on AI merciless on the daka coridor map....the dominion never launched an attack against me or my ally klingons until I launched my assault on the borg....the klingons were useless as an ally cause they send like 3 ships out at a time...and the AI didnt go after the klingons...it was weird all the borg did was send out ocasional scoute cubes and horde assimilators and paramids at their base...but as soon as I had engaged the borgs starbase or whatever its called the doms launched a masive fleet....I lost most of my ships taking out the borg....I sent what ships I had left and engaged the doms and they blew me up....but somehow between what I had left at my base and the warpin I managed to hold them off at my base while the klingons just sat cloaked by my starbase....then the dominon just sent out small groups of ships after that......this is not what I expected from the merciless AI......in fact the only ship the AI seemed to be spamming was c-11 interceptors.....they kept the rest of their forces quite balanced...not like the old spam 70 v-13s at me and die routine.....though taking their base was long and dificult.....and all this time the klingons just flew around the map in ones and thress and did nothing.....I did have to kill them off of my moon sets though and I took theirs lol....I think what helped a lot was cuz of the AIs bad tactics at sending small groups against me that I was able to level up many excelsiors mk 2s up to artillery range....also what steamrunners I got from warpin leveled quickly too....when I have some time I will try a more open map and see how long I last....btw I was playing fed in case u couldnt tell and the mayson advatar...I dont think I could have done this with klingons though at all...having artillery range weapons really saved me from dying...my fleet running from dom while shooting backwards lol....

I wonder if the AI pause will ever be removed. Its more obvious when you have lots of AI. I was just playing a 8 way FFA (me + 7 AI). Every couple of minutes the game freezes, then all AI fleets start moving off. It's fun to watch on the minimap. Engine thing though, as its been in since stock.

It's funny that it takes the AI a second to calculate : "Send every ship to player x's base".

The freeze is probably because every combat ship in the game is being ordered to move at once. Funny; i dont see that sort of thing nearly as much... i get more of a near constant stream of ships sent at me.

I just played as Fed with Roms and Kling as Ally against 3 normal Borg....no way to win this. There is no kill such huges waves of assimilators, spheres and cubes after 30min. I killed abaut 120 ressource assimilator but the ai themes to have infinitive ressources and they harvest just for the show  :borg:

3 borg? you're insane...

thats like the fights against the replicators in stargate

try one hard AI instead. its compareable tough i think.
