Klingon-Federation mixed tech.

I just played a game vs 2 allied AI hard with me only having one  AI easy. During the course of this game i built 2 kinds of ships, The special mixed tech ship and the fed vorcha. This combo of ships seems to be very powerful and fairly simple to spam. I am looking for a little advice on wheithr or not this is a good strat. Comments??? O btw my opponents just happened to be klings and feds while my allies where fed.

Mixed Tech buildtimes are a bit slow, so it's risky.  The ships are good, but that is a very risky manuver if you're going exclusively those.  While it saves you a little money in the beginning on buildings, later on you need to build them all anyway if the game drags, because of the need for upgrades, and possibly to give the Vorcha it's torp.

I was pretty impressed with how quick the build time was for those two ships i guess i should compare it to other ships that are similar sized.
