Hello, first of all I want to thank the Fleet Ops team for making this great addition to STA2. I literally fell out of my chair when I loaded this mod up for the first time.
At any rate, I'm having a particular issue with Manual IP join with a friend of mine. We have tried this on both 3.0.2 and 3.0.3. When initiating a manual ip join, from I can tell capturing packets, our machines instead of going out to the IP we specify first try to do SSDP discovery on our gateways which wouldn't work. We both use custom build linux routers with no UPnP support. After a few rounds of trying SSDP the system appears to go into LAN mode and just broadcasts on our local networks looking for anyone on the directplay8 port. I've done additional testing and tried a manual ip with another box in my network and the same thing happens.
We can play with each other if we go through the Gamespy route but we both don't overly like Gamespy and don't want to rely on it to play our games. Any ideas as to why the system behaves this way.
I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit and my friend is using Windows XP Pro 64-bit.
