I have installed (and reinstalled) Fleet operations 3.2.3 and the 3.2.6 patch on my Windows 8 system. However, I get an access violation error every time I try to run the executable. I have tried different compatibility modes and running the game as administrator. I have also tried to mess around with the .ini for windowed mode and/or D3D9, without avail. Here's the crash report for more info: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B8jx23 ... GpmWkJxQ00
My specs:
AMD Phenom X6 1055T
Asus M4A88T-I
2x4GB Corsair 1333CL9
Sapphire AMD Radeon 6870 1GB on 3x Samsung 2343BW (Eyefinity)
Windows 8 Consumer Preview 64-bit
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your report. You report to be using the Consumer Preview version of Windows 8. The final version (RTM) released along with some online updates includes various compatibility improvements for applications. So it is likely that this problem will be solved once you update to the final version of Windows 8.
I haven't done any tests with Windows 8 yet, but we've got a user report of it to be running just fine.

Thanks for your reply, I will update to the new Windows 8 asap. Does anybody have experience using Eyefinity with FO?
Edit: Upgraded to Windows 8 Build 9200 but still the same error!

The original poster may not care anymore, but this may help others:
On Windows 8.1 try running the exe in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
A buddy on windows 8.1 was having trouble with access violations with 3.2.7 and that did the trick.
1) find your fleetops exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations)
2) Right click the exe, click Properties
3) click the Compatibility tab
4) check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows 7
