So here i am again with a new topic. I rally love this mod, but i also love to modify it to my own taste. So is there someone on this forums that would maybe have the time to share the steps of adding a new race to fleet ops ( cause the way i see it is harder that adding it in armada2 ). If there is already a guide like this then my bad for not finding it ( although i did search for it ). But pls , if not can someone with strong moding knowlege of armada 2 post a guide for this : addinga new race - all the steps. Tks.

there was a post about this a while ago the main difference in adding an fo race is that there is more u need to do like assigning a selection box and cursors the best advice i can give you for now is
1) try an not add 8472 (ai dsnt like to use evolution)
2) try and not make avatars (easy 2do for an existing race but for sum reason it crashes when doing for a custom race unless it uses an existing races racename)
3) try not be to ambitious as to make a balanced race takes ages and to do it in fo takes longer esp if u wanna make use of all there featurs like ranks

Just so i wouldn't open up a new topic ( don't want to become annoyng ) but is there a way to see were the game crushes after modifyng the odf's without going through each odf i modified. Is there like an error log file or something cause i just couldn't fond one.

its ment to produce one but i dnt have a clue how to interperate it (its attached to the send report thing
wen it comes to new races its best just to do one thing at a time (make dummy odfs eg copy the fed base but rename it and alter the race name to wot the new race is and test that then move to the next one) its a slow process but helps to find bugs easier and if it crashes on the base its either a mesh error or the race odf error (to eliminate a mesh error use the command baseName and link it to the new mesh if it dsnt crash and the new mesh shows then its not the mesh but an error in the race odf.

hope i aint confussed you too much and it made sence

It does but is not about adding a new race. simply change some stuff in some dominion odfs and i think i screw up in one of them. The ideeea was if there is a log file to show the exact error so i wouldnt have to look in every odf i modified. Anyway tks again for the answer.
