I am sure everyone who has ever played armada or fleet ops is already well aware of this problem but I though it was worth being brought up. Even with AI set to no movement ships will still go off on their own and end up being destroyed. If you have a short range shup defending a long range ship. the short range ship charges! This makes me crazy because I use stramrunners/other to take out turrents!
On the other hand sometimes a ship will be attacked and will not even fire back. There are not status effects ot systems down, just a bad captian?

Alert settings? Red alert makes ships attack the instant a target is in senor range, which means they have to go to their weapons range to fire. Yellow alert makes the ship fire if attacked.

Alert takes priority.

Only in fleet ops.

In Vanilla and every other mod I've played, Alert only has to do with shooting, while the movement autonomy controls control, suprise suprise suprise........... movement.

No movement autonomy and every other mod+vanila.... the ship stays put. In FO, it runs off to get slaughterd at the sight of an enemy fleet.

Alert always had priority, even in stock. As I said in another thread, it's a necessity of the status's function.

Even the stock games tutorials agree.
