Hi all
first, thanks again for this great armada mod.
second: i dunno if this is already known, but i think so:
When i play against the AI, the AI stops to build ships, when i have destroyed the starbase. is this correct? or just a bug?
eg: 4 enemies on merciless, or hard or sth. they have all big bases with lots of ship facilities.... then, i crush the starbase of one of them and the race the base belongs to, stops to produce ships....
greetings
and sorry for my lousy english^^

As far as I know, that only happens sometimes ... I think
. Sometimes depends on the maps and what settings you chose for Instant Action ![Smiley :)](/forum/images/smilies/smile.png)

we found the root of the issue and it will be fixed soon, not with the upcoming patch (as we already have enough to test in it
) but in the patch after

Let me shed some light on the situation...
Basically it is how the AI handles the build list. The original starbase is in fact the problem because it is the start of their tech tree. Because of this everything is linked to that base. If you destroy just that base alone... then all construction stops because the AI is too stupid to realize that they can build another. Also to put this into query, if you were to destroy a AI's yard, even though it has others it would build it again because it reads the build list as "This is supposed to be there, you cannot continue without it..." Though no one notices that this problem has been solved in A1 before. If you make the AI not start out with it's corresponding base in the tech tree, then the computer recognizes to build it. And then it is solved. So I was thinking if instead of you starting out with a base, rather you start off with just one construction ship, and then once you choose your avatar, the constructor will automatically start building your main base. And from there the game can go on.

I really Like your Idea for selecting an avatar then starting off with a constructor radther than a starbase.
