OKay, I'm check out Beta 2 with the Hotfix. It's great, love it. Cept the thing has this nasty tendancy to Crash, as in totaly Freeze the Computer, at points. I've only played as Romulan and Noxter so far, but it's crashed fairly soon intot he game both times.
For the Noxter, it was just all of a sudden. Things are goin fine, I'm planning what to do, then boom. Whole thing freezes. I don't know if it's a particular ship that's doing it, or if it's because all the races are on the map at the same time, or if there's some station it doesn't like, but somethin's wrong there.
For the Romulans, it Froze Up Completely when I clicked on the Generix Class (Pulse Disruptor) Research Item.
Stats
Windows XP Home
NVIDIA GeForce 2 Integrated GPU
AMD Athalon XP 2100 Plus 1.73 GHZ
500mb RAM
Anything else you need to know?

hm, that's strange, we did several games with all raes and used every ship and station so all i can say, it must be a problem between Fleet Operations and you computer or installation
let's check the installation first
have you installed Fleet Operations beta2 into a blank folder or do you have another Fleet Operations or Armada installation parallel to beta2?

I installed into a blank folder. Uninstalled the previous one, then when in and manually deleted anything that was left. Then installed Beta 2, the HOtfix, then the Music.
I reinstalled it just a bit ago, and I'm gonna go see if that made a difference.

after your next crash, pls go into your fodata/temp folder in your Fleet Operations directory and send me the logfile (via, ICQ, MSN or attach it here in the forums )

OKay, I'll stick it as an attachment.
Glancing at it, seems to be many issues with missing .wav files and graphics card warnings....

Got another bug for you:
On the 8 Player map Nebula Crossing, whenever you look at a nebula, the HUD (or GUI or whatever you want to call it) starts flickering and blacking out. The nebulas flicker in and out as well and little Targeting Recepticles (that's what they look like anyway) appear in the nebulas. Usually about 7 of them grouped together. What causes it? I don't know.
And the Feds apparently don't crash as bad as the roms or noxter. It crashed eventually, but I was looking at a Nebula and the screen was going screwy. The game crashed and one of those "Microsoft Error Reports" windows came up.

when i was playing as the romulans (i got my cd to work after weeks of praying i found out i don't need to pray just scarafice the cat and the computer god makes it work) it would be ok but when a new tec is made or ship it would freeze for a few seconds (10 sec apx) then carry on again

well, i think these freezes are just load times. with the textures and models larger in fleet operations than in armada2, they more extensive on slower systems..

Hmmm....I think I've figured out what causes the big time crashes. It's somethin to do with the high-res textures. I played a couple games on low-res and, cept for the issues with nebuals and, after a long time, just about any backround thing. IE: Asteroids, those space dust things you guys stuck in, and moons.
Then I switched it to High-res and it crashed big time on me after about 20 minutes. I'll thinker with my graphics settings and see if I can get it workin right.
Other than those two problems, everything is good. I would recommend extending the range of the Noxter Mothership's weapon. It's a great weapon, but since most phasers and torpedo's can be used outside it's range, it's not very effective....
Oh, and when can we expect another patch?

Ouch....
Well, I think it might have just been that one map I was havin trouble with. Cause I've changed maps and I'm playing a new game, and I haven't had a single problem yet. Low-res textures, but I turned the rest of the graphics up and that makes it look better.
