B2:Gaming - Team colors/Crash on exit

Program aborts? Network configuration? Graphic errors? Bugs? Post your question here.

I'm running Windows ME on a Pentium III 933 MHz with 384 MB RAM, GeForce 4 Ti 4200 graphics card, SoundBlaster PCI 128 sound card.

1. When I choose to disable team colors in the launcher settings, it has no effect in the game. The team color markings are still there.

2. Every time I quit the game I get an error similar to "Fleet Operations caused an error in . ..."

Perhaps we can make this an official bug report thread? ;)

hm, do you have another version of fleet operations installed parallel to beta2?

No, I uninstalled Fleet Ops before I installed the new beta. But perhaps there were some files remaining.

I'll try uninstalling, checking if there are remains of the previous version and then reinstall.

I'll post again if that helped or not.

Ok, the error message remains, the team colors also.

BUT:

I had an error during installation, which I had forgotten, because I had no problem "running" Fleetops.

During installation I get these messages (not exactly but the meaning is the same):

Error opening "C:WINDOWSSYSTEMMSVCP60.DLL".

Retry  -  Abort   -  Ignore

Error opening "C:WINDOWSSYSTEMMsvcrt.dll".

Retry  -  Abort   -  Ignore

Could that have to do with my problem?

no, these errors are alright cause these files exist, so they are not overwritten, maybe the team color issue has something todo with windows me, i am not sure, let's see if there are more reports about it.

@lewrbm69: Why are you posting that in a "bug report" thread?

Concerning my "team color problem":

The problem seems to be in the launcher itself.

I start the launcher, go to settings/advanced settings, uncheck "Use team colors for vessels and stations." and then return to settings.

When I go to advanced settings again, "use team colors" is checked again.

All other settings that I change are saved correctly (even the ones in advanced settings), the only thing that resets all the time is "use team colors".

I thought that might help to find the bug.

I found a workaround:

Open the FOData.ini in the FleetopsFOData directory and change teamcolors manually from 1 to 0.

Now the setting remains unchecked in the loader's advanced settings.

Seems to be a rather simple bug, hope you guys find a way to fix it in the next patch. ;)

uwww, yea, you are right, the launcher misinterprets the team color option, will be fixed in the next beta, thx!
for the official bug report thread, it is easier to find the bugs when they are in seperate.

Update on the exception error:

I still get it every time I quit the game. But as it simply causes the program to terminate and nothing else it's not that big a problem. However, here is the description:

FLEETOPS verursachte einen Ausnahmefehler 03H in Modul bei eb5a:00000001.
