Maybe a Firewall blocks the traffic. Check that

I forwarded a port for warcraft 3, else I couldn't join or host either,

I forwarded all the ports that are in the help file

only those are required if you'd like to have direct ip games
DirectPlay 8 Ports

2300..2400 UDP inbound and outbound
6073 TCP inbound and outbound

make sure you have 2300-2400 defined as udp portrange.
a friend of mine who should have enough knowledge about networks did exactly as stated in the help file but he couldn't host either. maybe thats related cause i have a tool installed called dxport which reduces and restricts port usuage to only a few ports of ten.

Even if it isn't stated in the compatibility list. This tool is also compatible with dxport. they have a nice forum just for port forwarding with routers over there. maybe you can get better help over there with experienced ppl in this matter.

i have only forwarded 2300 and port 2400, if i have to forward everyport between it i would need to manually input 100 ports :sweatdrop:

yea, thats the point, so dxdiag would save you some work. or your could try to adress a port range to forward. that should be possible on most routers. what kind of router are u using?

I have a MEDION Wlan router 801.9g (europe standard)

it's a really f*cked up router since I had alot ot troubles with it I dont know if you guys know it?

i don't know that router. but i know medion and i assume that this router wasn't that expensive :)
maybe it's the router i can't say, some routers have problems with many connections or much traffic, but theoretically it should be no problem to host a game with it BUT if you have other problems with it anyway, why don't invest some money in a better router and sell your old one via ebay?
