I was playing a few times, and I was hoping it would go away. But it doesn't.

When I play as the Dominion, and if I am in a real dogfight (tight combat) and if I were to tell an Attack ship to ram a ship that is very close to it. I would never see the ramming explosion, all I'll see is the Attack Ship spinning and spinning and then explode. The target ship remains unharmed.

Is this a bug or is this intended? ???

Because I find it rather irritating when my Jem'Hadar that have "Keen sight" (according to Weyoun 5 I believe) simply miss and flip out.

ram can sometimes fail. if it fails the ramming bug will become derelict, losing all crew, it shouldnt explode, the only reason i can think for it exploding is that some weapons hit it before it even tried to ram.

does the fail chance base on the size of the target (means: big target: low chance to fail, Small target: big chance to fail) ?

i think its a straight 15% chance for all sizes.

successful rams to constructors and miners deals a lot less damage (50% less)

as the bug ranks up i think it gets more likely to deal damage, and when it does deal damage it causes more of it.

Fail chance is 10% on any target, at any rank.

dunno what u guys think, but it would actually make sense to make the success chance depending on the size of the vessel

guide says 15%, unless it was changed and the guide isnt updated.

where do you base your claim?

How so?

Weapon odf's, which tend to be kinda reliable.

successchance = 0.90

I checked the Guide and the Bugship entry in the Database doesn't include a percentage.

Hmm... I guess I get that ten percent a whole lot more often than I should, you guys do the math. But in my experiences, usually every 6th bug I try ramming with fails.

you are a rather unlucky guy gamer, u cant even get tunngle working. sounds like the whole universe is against u, as part of some COMPLEX plan, they all seem to be PERSECUTING you.

whats easier to ram ? a little ship of the same size as your ship, which can evade it, or a big battleship which doesnt have a chance to evade?  :borg:

The one with the weakest weapons and the most damage, they're both fast and have roughly equal chance to evade. B'rel Class are as easy to hit as Vor'cha Class.

Shields would be a better variation; make the stronger shields capable of absorbing the impact more often.

hm, shields could make a difference yes, but on the other hand u cant tell me that ramming a venture scout is as easy as ramming a galaxy. but dmg reduction over shield strength could actually change some stuff also. About the weapons ... well thats alr ingame, just shoot the damn bug  :D
