Yes, I'm using windows 7 64 bit. I can get to the menus and all that, and IA even plays without much trouble. I can get into the MP lobby even. But when the game starts, it hangs for about 10-20 seconds while it is supposedly "waiting for the other players" (who turn out to be waiting for me) then the game crashes. Help?
Btw i'm running no mods at all, just FO![Smiley :)](/forum/images/smilies/smile.png)
Or is it that I can't run MP on win7? if that's the case then i guess im just gonna IA forever![Sad :(](/forum/images/smilies/sad.png)

FO works just fine under win7 64 bit.
You do have Tunngle installed, and properly configured, right?

i DO have a closed port issue
But that happens for pretty much every port i try
With the game I keep getting an eAccesViolation like the one i sometimes get in IA at random intervals. Unfortunately I don't have the crash report atm...

frankly i have NO IDEA what is wrong with my setup
as i can connect to the tunngle lobby AND the flops lobby but crash when the actual game starts. No clue where the problem could possibly be![Sad :(](/forum/images/smilies/sad.png)
Used the tunngle troubleshooter, resetted the TCP/IP but frankly can't test it until i have someone to try with
Also every port seems to be closed/blocked and i found a site that told me how to "resolve" it, but they were problems that are like "remove this program" that I do not have.
Another note is i can play ANY other online game EXCEPT fleet ops...![Sad :(](/forum/images/smilies/sad.png)

Hold on, did you say that sometimes you get this crash during a game against the AI? That's not really a multiplayer issue then.
You need to break the process down into steps and test them individually, to help troubleshoot.
Can you start an Instant Action game?
Do you experience crashes sometimes during instant action games?
Can you start a LAN multiplayer game with just yourself and AI players?
In Tunngle, is the face in the bottom right corner red, yellow, or green?
Can you see some peoples' names in Tunngle without a red X?
Can you see everybody's names in Tunngle with no red X's?
Can you see peoples' games in the game lobby once you're connected to Tunngle?
Can you join those games?
Also, where is Fleet Ops installed on your computer? An eaccess violation might mean that Windows security blocked some part of the install process or is blocking some part of the game process.

I CAN join an IA game, eaccessviolations are rare there though
i can join an MP game with just AIs, its only with other people
the face in tunngle is yellow, as windows seems to be blocking every port on my computer
However, I can see most people's names without an X (there are only 1 or 2 people I can't connect to there)
While I can see other peoples games AND join them, they can't see mine. The violation doesn't happen until 1 second after the game actually loads and starts.
The game is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations, but it was done with administrator priviliges...
ive tried MP with firewall OFF though...

You need to forward the 11555 port from Tunngle on your router (https://www.tunngle.net/wiki/Port_Forward).
Also make sure that Tunngle and FOPS are in the same windows firewall profile (as in both need to be in the home network, OR the public one)
Try also running FOPS as administrator (right click on it - "run as administrator").
I find it rather confusing that you get an access violation instead of some connectivity error.![huh ](/forum/images/smilies/huh.png)

You've probably created a shortcut to Fleet Ops that automatically launches that mod when it starts the game. Just make a clean one and you should be fine.
