If you can wait a few days I can whip something up with screenshots. Currently limited by the fact that my only web connection is my tethered phone.

the guide i'm gonna make will involve 2 free pieces of software called ashampoo burning studio free, and virtual clone drive. feel free to download and install these at your leisure to get a head start. both these are 100% FREE and are not trials or shareware, so if you're being asked to pay you've found the wrong link. i can't link to them currently as going to their sites is gonna eat up what little bandwidth i have left.

i'm gonna assume you're doing everything on your laptop, and that your laptop has a working cd drive. and you are running windows xp or vista or 7.

i should get my new router on monday or tuesday, so i'll be able to start the process then assuming the router works properly.

cool, i'll write the guide for doing it all on 1 computer, your laptop, for simplicity. router still hasn't arrived yet, so there's gonna be some delay.

Ok, i got bored for 2 minutes, here are the 5 easy steps.

1. Download "CD Burner XP"
CDBurnerXP: Free CD and DVD burning software
2. Download Daemon Tools Lite
DAEMON Tools Lite :: Products :: DAEMON-Tools.cc
Both are Free for Non Commercial Use, and run perfectly fine under Windows 7.

3. Install CD Burner XP, start it
Make an Image of your existing CD

Under "file name" select a name and path you wish.

4. Install Daemon Tools, start it
Add an existing image ( A ), then double click on it ( B ) to mount it - that's it.

5. Profit & have fun.

P.S.: Of course you can just copy the "image file"  (xyz.iso or xyz.mds), you already created, to any other PC / laptop as you want. Only install Daemon Tools there to mount the image as described - thats it.

just this week got my new internet router. turns out they accepted my payment but didn't bother sending the device.

haven't forgot about my offer here, but i looked at baserene's guide and it's good enough. if you want i can still write the version i was gonna do, but it won't be much sexier than his. it will be longer and more boring, and probably 20% more obnoxious.

hold on, you want a guide on how to copy a CD? so you want to end up with 2 CDs in your hands?

just asking because earlier i think i misread you and was gonna write a guide for something else. if all you want is a copy of a disk then things are much easier :D i'll write it up in a minute few hours.

EDIT: can't do it on my desktop, i haven't actually reinstalled my disk drive yet. i'll do it later on my laptop.

I already answered you this question in your topic.

Try #1 & #3. Download CDBurnerXP, install it, start it, click on "copy disc". It is really this simple.
(remember that in most countries it's only legal to do a copy for YOURself)

For additional help you may want to check out their guide:
CDBurnerXP: Copy Data Disc

Or ask google / youtube.

Had this written out on another computer before you posted baserene, so i might as well post it.

Get this software:
Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 Free

Install it, by default it offers to install a useless browser toolbar, feel free to uncheck that, it won't affect things. put the A2 CD in the tray and start ashampoo. Then you get this screen:

Uncheck the top box then click , then you get this screen:

Click , then you wait until you get this screen:

Your "source drive" will be named something else reflecting who made your disk drive. Click .
Then you get to watch an awesome progress bar go from left to right, wait until the button becomes a button and click . Your CD tray will eject itself now, take out the A2 CD and put in a blank or rewritable CD. Then wait til you see something like this:

Ignore the warning about audio players not being able to play your CD. Once again your disk drive will have a different name at the top. Click
You may get this warning:
Image
Click , if there was any important documents porn, or pictures moar porn on your CD, then it will be erased.
Now you get a fabulous progress bar that you get to watch. It will move around a lot, once again wait for the button to change, the tray should auto eject your completed CD.

Final notes: I hate microsoft's notepad, text editors shouldn't be complicated but they can still fuck it up.

Of course you should Myles.

Good (more like better) guide, and another free burning program - users choice now

a wise precaution seeing how expensive a2 can be. if you want to legally get a copy it's ridiculous.
