Hi Doca/Optec...

I was wondering why Alchemy works fine with Vanilla A2 but with Flops it stops armada from loading up, the armada2 engine kicks in but the game never starts and it just sits in ram on like 2mb...

its really annoying alchemy dont work as i have to constantly change to 2.1 speakers to play flops :(

What OS is this? Have you thought of using Win XP or Win Vista? If it is Linux than all I can say is try a different OS because there are its probs with linux.

im using windows 7 and the same happens in Vista, its been a flops problem for ages and obviously has to do something with their hook in to the engine as im pretty sure alchemy wants to create a hook too so its in the hooking...

however im not a programmer and that can be completely wrong but none the less, flops breaks alchemy with armada 2.

I never experienced probs, I use Vista Home Premium edition SP1. I have had nearly perfect cross-compatibility with XP compatible games including A2 and Flt Ops.

i'll take a look. isn't alchemy just there to help games to access sound hardware directly for eax effects? as far as i know armada doesn't feature any eax stuff. so, is there any advantage with this? (i am also on a x-fi)

i do believe thats its job but i beleive CMSS 3D is an EAX enhancement of some sort...

basically if you play flops with your sound set to 5.1 about 5 minutesafter launchng a game (not the menu) it will force all sound to come out with your centre speaker, Armada 2 does the same until you enable alchemy and then your 5.1 is maintained...

but alchemy wont boot with flops as you have to manually assign the paths for alchemy to watch so it launches when the game does....
