Hey guys, I'm trying to play FleetOps with a friend on another PC that's hooked up to my Local Area Connection, and it says that he can't join since apparently he has a different version of the game, even though both are 3.1.1

Made any changes to the game? Changes to almost any part can ruin multiplayer like that.

exactly. maybe he modified his rts_cfg to increase the zoom-out or something similar. that is enough to get the different version message

This is what you SHOULD do:

- Have a copy that is to be untouched by anything other than patches. Then have a seperate copy that you can screw around with.

Future Wars isn't very good because all the shipps for klingons and Romulans look the same, and the spped is to fast.
