Iv noticed this alot with dom but they dont listen properly thats about the only way to describe my issue with them.

I hate being them because they dont listen to your order during micro, i have them all highlighted them ill click on one to repair and it wont do it, all the while still die'ing, so ill click again then it will turn but keep fighting.

its a struggle to get dom ships to listen to anything you want them to do. Some of the time they will get half way there and turn around and try and rejoin the fleet.

Anyone else have problems like this with them because iv only noticed this problem with the dominion.

I also have problems with the b8, instead of turning to face the ship im oprdering it to attack it will face what ever direction it bloody feels like, its set to yellow alert so should turn to fire all its weapons but it doesnt it will do what ever it feels like.

Its exhausting trying to do anything with them.

do you mean yellow movement? as yellow alert shouldnt matter about auto turning. i find if i leave ships on green movement (to stop them chasing things too much) then ships with limited firing arcs wont turn to get a shot. but if on yellow then they do turn to fire.

I've had some issues with Breen Cruisers. I'll order them to attack and they'll just stop in place and not do anything unless they are facing their target. It seems to be related to torp-based units with limited firing arcs anyway. I've never had an issue ordering units to repair though.

Yeah, all forward firing ships tend to do this... bombers, b-8s, s-2's, kvort's , brels. You need to move them forward, and then click to turn to target... its really annoying. It's just hurts more with slow B-8's and super low defense ships like bombers, especially aginst cloakers who can decloak behind you. You have to live with it I guess.  :(

i was able to get around this repair problem by using priority repair but as of the new patch there seems to be a problem with it

I think that something in this patch has caused ships to change orders to "assist" each other.  Were there any changes made to the  firing modes that would make them more likely to do this?

I've only tested it a few times as Romulans, but I found clear evidence.  If you group two ships together, then cloak one and the other gets attacked, the cloaked ship will decloak and attack.  This makes it nearly impossible to retreat.

Also, if you move one ship just out of vision range of an enemy structure and then attack it with a second ship, the parked ship will move to assist.  I don't think it's supposed to do that, is it?  :ermm:

Hey!  Maybe this has something to do with the changes the devs made so that cloaking AI wouldn't attack with half their ships cloaked and half decloaked.

This (units in teams doing 'unexpected' things) is an ancient issue dealing with Craft AI  - it has been present since A2, and most likely A1, unfortunately. It is slated for redo, but requires considerable rework to do so :).
