Ok, I have been playing this game on and off for a year or two.

And all of my drivers are up to date, just installed them. So I don't know why, the game won't allow me to play the game in 1680x1050, so anyone with the knowledge in getting this fix would be great. And it couldn't be the game, it is a fresh install

I changed the settings when the game starts and it refuse to change after even I restarted. Even during the game, I changed the settings during the game, no use. Even graphical settings aren't working.

Even the sound settings won't change...I keep turning down the sounds, and the button, voice, even the UI sound won't even turn down.

BTW this is my system:

RAM: 2.0gb
video: nvidia quadro fx 570
Directx: 9.0c
cpu: intel core 2 duo 2.4ghz

Well, I have a Macbook pro with an ATI X1600 and play streight out of the box 1680x1050. Never had any problems with it.

Maybe you have the game installed into a protected position? I cant save my maps if I dont run the game on admin under win 7. Try that out.

the user configuration files are stored in the user folder, compliant with windows 7. so saving them shouldn't be a problem. the game shell (everything that is not 'ingame') ignores the resolution setting from the graphics settings and is locked at 800x600 resolution. ingame the resolution from the options menu should be applied.
i don't know why the sound settings aren't working for you ingame. the shell menu button sounds are always locked at full volume.

make sure your configuration file is accessible/writable. you can open the file and look if your settings where correctly saved. you could also try to delete your configuration file and try again.
You can find your configuration file under XP
C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataStar Trek Armada II Fleet OperationsFOData.ini
or Vista/7
C:UsersAppDataRoamingStar Trek Armada II Fleet OperationsFOData.ini

note that these folders may be hidden in the default configuration of Windows.
