Fleet Ops and ARM II GUIs are completely broken

Hey there everyone...
Well, after many years of lurking and occasionally messing around with Fleet Ops, I decided hey, why not give it a try on my new computer (Windows 7)? It won't run the original Arm II properly, after all, and surely Fleet Ops must fix whatever problems the game has with this OS, right? Maybe this "A2 Classic" thing will work so that I can get the full low-down on Armada II's Cardassian ships so I can complete my Cardassian homebrew fleet for Star Trek: Fleet Captains...
Boy, was I in for a shock...

As you can see, both the Fleet Ops and Arm II GUIs are completely FUBAR, the Fleet Ops one even moreso. Indeed, the problems with A2 Classic are the exact same problems I was having with the original Arm II on this computer. Also, the loading screen looks like this...

Maybe I just have the worst computer in the world (the graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 if that means anything to you guys), but if there's a way to fix this I'd be mighty grateful.
Thanks in advance.![Drop :sweatdrop:](/forum/images/smilies/sweatdrop.gif)

update your graphics drivers to latest. this is possibly a known problem with certain nvidia cards.
usually it's gtx 400/500 series cards that are the problem, but possibly the gt 520 shares this problem.
there's a section in the guide about it:
http://guide.fleetops.net/guide/faq/tec ... 500-Series
it lists a solution, but heed the warning that the solution is experimental, and should only be your last resort. also it's unsupported.
nvidia drivers can be found here:

Either what he said or change your screen resolution form 10:8 to 1900:1080 instead. ![LOL ](/forum/images/smilies/laugh.gif)

those aren't resolutions, they are aspect ratios. also i think you meant 1920.
i think what nathanj is trying to say is run in 16:9 (the aspect ratio of a 1920x1080 resolution, aka full hd resolution) instead of 5:4 (aspect ratios are usually simplified to smallest integers so 10:8 = 5:4)
i don't really see the point of this, i don't suspect it will fix anything. also if your monitor is natively 5:4 (eg my second monitor is 1280x1024, which is 5:4) then trying to force it to run in a significantly different aspect ratio (eg 16:9 or 16:10) will just make it look terrible.
