These instructions are for Ubuntu version 10.10 Linux.
1) Install Wine, if you haven't already. Copy and paste these commands into a terminal (applications-->accessories-->Terminal) to install the very newest Wine, from the Wine dev team :
- Code: Select all
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine1.3
2) Mount the CD While that finishes (or after) you need to either put your Armada CD in, or mount the CD image. Instead of Daemon tools, use this :
Navigate to the folder of the CD image for Armada2 and push F7. the window should have a terminal in it now. Type this
- Code: Select all
sudo mkdir /mnt/iso
sudo mount ./armada 2.iso /mnt/iso -o loop
(armada 2.iso is to be substituted with the name of your CD. spaces have to have a before them in the command. Linux is also case sensitive)
Type in
- Code: Select all
winecfg
go to the Drives tab, and select add. choose /mnt/iso, and choose cd-rom as the type under Show Advanced.
3) Now, download and install fleetops. It should act like a windows program now
4) Finish Up Go to your home folder.
Push Ctrl+H
find .wine
navigate to .wine/drive_c/Program Files/Activision/Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations/Data/
Rename Armada2.exe to Armada2exe.orig
Rename Armada2.ldl to Armada2ldl.orig
Install a NoCD Crack for Armada 2 (finding one that works right is a challenge, PM me)
