even with graphics on low, sometimes when something explodes, the game freezes for like 5 seconds. then it runs again. some explosions don't trigger the screen freezing.

here is my specs

P4 2.6 GHz
1.5 GB RAM
geForce FX 5500 256MB

Is it the really big explosions like starbases and cubes? Perhaps this has something to do with the screen shake that happens along with big explosions.

had the same problems with on my P4.
Plus the GEforce 256 may not be dedicated.

Problem did not persist when upgraded to dual core and1gb dedicated nvidia.

we should reconfirm the requirements for V3...

The graphics are pretty heavy. especially the explosions and that queer screen rattle when u take out a starbase...

Also, u could try removing bump mapping and anti-aliasing in the graphics settings. Your ships will not be as defined, but it will improve performance till you upgrade.

hmm... i'm sorry but what do you mean by dedicated?

um he means a dedicated graphics card as opposed to the one that came attached to your motherboard

the graphics card did not come with the motherboard. and yes, it freezes during the explosion of a starbase. probably the rumbling. is there a way to disable that?

thank you.

does it rumble even with starship explosions? i think it freezes at the first explosion and it frezzes when a starbase explodes. is there a way to disable the rumbling?

thank you

yeah. that vibration/rumbling is rather annoying.

i have the same problems, just cant say it happens with explosions. Sometimes the game freezes at my comp for like 1-2 secs and continues then like usual. My Comp is not the best but should be able to take Fleet Operations easily:
Athlon 64 3800
2GB DDR 400 Ram
GF 7600GT
think thats all that is important :)

yeah, mine's like that too. i managed to remove the  rumbling. :D

Explode ODFs. Look for the letters X, p, l, o, d, e while scanning. (In sequence, by the way)

I have the same issue.

And I'm sure my pc can Handel it.

3.0 Quad cores with dual Geforce 280

I do have everything turn up to max. Except the AA, I turned that down a bit.

Game runs great but it seems as soon as my scout ships discovers any enemys ship/stations for the first time the same thing happens. Game hangs for a few seconds.

inside the odf file, at the very end, there are the explosion files. their labels start like this

"x_.odf"

example

x_building2_explosion.odf
x_building2_explosion_green.odf
...
etc...

it's defined in those files how much the screen shakes during an explosion. just set the values to 0 to remove the shaking. strangely enough, it still freezes. i think it's the cinematic window

 It's not the cinematic window, and I would know because I have the cine-win off with highest graphics settings, and my game still freezes a bit.  :( The freeze really sucks when the fully upgraded Kling basic yard has the base section targeted, and they all go up in flames simultaneously. But I like the shaking, cause right before big crap blows up, I grab hold of the mimimap's trapezoid and I do not let go of it until eveything blows up, unless I want it to shake to peices.
