I'm working on my Star Wars Mod and I'm having a really hard time finding the right textures for ships and stations. I'm starting to convert the Imperial Faction and I want to use the Golan Space Defense platform as the base. But I can't find the textures. I looked in the SOD file via 'notepad'. It referenced something called 'default - golan33' but i couldn't find that texture anywhere in the Star Wars fleet command mod. I've got amisoft 3d viewer and i can view the model but it appears with white and green boxes. I put every texture file i had from the Star Wars Fleet Command Mod and it won't read it properly. I put the textures in the data/textures/pics/imported file but they won't show up. I really need some help here. It would be nice if there was a program i could load a sod into and it tells me what texture file is needed.

Upload the file to something like Mediafire and send me the link on a PM. I'll download it and take a look for you :)

Actually I just redownloaded the full version 1.1. I think some of the textures had gotten deleted somehow. :pinch: I found the specific texture I was looking for. But it would still be nice to have a program that tells you more clearly than notepad what textures go with what model. I think the problem might be like the Clone Wars addon may delete some textures for some reason and that's why I couldn't find them. Its just been very frustrating. First I couldn't find the textures for the Repair ship and MC90, then the E-wing textures were missing. and it was just a big mess. But my Rebellion side is finished, it's not a separate race yet, but it's finished in terms of playability.

You may get your wish soon, Spartan ;)

I've been working on an Armada debugger that checks for SOD errors and missing textures, as well as pretty much every little thing that can go wrong in a mod.

Only thing keeping me from releasing this thing is a bit of overload at work for the past few weeks. That should change by end of April :)

There is a far simpler way to view and import SODs and find out their textures. It's called MS3D (Milkshape 3D) there's a section that lists textures, just clicking on that right section and the listed names gives you a file name. I've been using it all the time and have always gotten the textures that I am needing for any ship or station. All you need is the A1/A2 SOD Importer and Exporter.
I have the program and all that and a zipped copy in backup in my DropBox account as a backup.

I'd get milkshape 3d but its expensive and i can't spare the money right now. I might just have to wait for Mr. Vulcan's debugger.

Spartan,

Its been a while since I downloaded it but I believe Milkshape 3d gives you a 30 day trail.

Pepperman is right about MS3D giving a 30 Day trial, plus I've heard that some people that use MS3D have given other users an activation key so they have the full product without having to purchase it. I was given my code in such a way when I downloaded my Trial Version after it expired, that's part of the reason why I've created a backup of it in my DropBox Account, that way even though I don't have the activation key able to get two, I still have the program without having to ever install it again.

I'd also argue that for what it is, Milkshape3d is incredibly good value :) Think of something like Maya or 3d Max, and how much they cost. Yes, more functionality, but Milkshape3d still gives you huge bang for buck.
