Hey people
Hopefully someone can help me.
I'm trying to import new space backgrounds the import itself isn't a problem at all.
However when I'll check ingame I'm getting a weird rim bug and I don't know what it is causing it nor how to fix it. But take a look for yourself:
![Image](http://img806.imageshack.us/img806/3753/image1vgv.jpg)
The images are in tga 24bit uncompressed format and in a resolution of 512x512 normally they should work perfect with this settings. I took a look on the original FO background pictures and they all have the same settings. I don't see a reason why it wont work. Do I need to write something in a config file in order to get it working??
EDIT: During investigation i've found out that the rim actually isn't a rim at all. Instead the corners are part of the specific pictures itself which got relocated to the other side of the picture.
Meaning: The right side of Picture A is cut and paste ingame and all the sudden on the left side of picture A. Any ideas why that could be happening?
It also appears only on the outer edges the inner edges (middle picture connections) are working like they should no picture seperations there. Changing the resolution to 1024x1024 for example had no effect.

Could you upload the texture?
Did you make the SOD? If so, are the texture coordinates right?

I didn't create any .sod file since it's not really required I guess. I mean FO itself only have 1 background sod. file so far. But it is interesting that you talk about coordinates. Do I need to enter them somewhere?
And of course here are the textures.
Download textures.zip from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

Hey very nice backround!!! ![ThumbsUp ](/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.png)
Is this some kind of personal project or will the developers implement that idea in the next patches?
Would be very nice.

Thanks I also like the background very much. If I get it working I would like to construct a background pack which the devs might wanna use at a later point maybe not. But at the moment it's just a personal thing. I also still have to photoedit some pictures later on so that the player wont see any connections on some specific connection points between the pictures.
Anyway as soon as I have it working I begin construction on an entire background pack which I will release public. Fortunately having extra pictures wont affect online gaming. That means mappers can use my new backgrounds without any problems.
The problem here right now are just those picture seperatations. I hope that one of the devs can help me on this..
Many other people already tried to help me on this like Dominus - megadroid (just in teamspeak) and some others but they all have no idea what's causing it since the files itself seem to be ok.
So please Devs or anyone else experienced with adding backgrounds in FO Help me.![Smiley :)](/forum/images/smilies/smile.png)
EDIT: Alright seems like I fixed it.. I redid the pictures - this time manually. Last time I've used a picture splitter which automatically splits the picture in a way you like. Well the rims are no longer present so I assume that my splitter tool did something to my pictures during the process. But I will investigate that further.
EDIT1: Ok I've discovered the problem. It seems Fleet Ops doesn't like it when you add new layers (pictures in and over pictures in a file.) I can't even rotate my pictures by 90degree or the Rim issue returns. That makes picture editing nearly impossible and makes it even harder to find good suitable backgrounds. That means the nice background I have here is basically useless. I could have edited those few sides easily so that they fit to each other but without the possibility to edit the pictures in that matter it simply sux. (Paint shop Pro btw.)
Well I guess I know now why there are so less Background pictures available. Not sure if this is an issue by Fleetops or from Armada2 stock engine itself.

Well did you merge the image down before adding into FO?

Of course TGA format 24bit uncompressed.
At the moment I must make changes in Jpeg format and then save it to tga again. But when I try to edit the pictures as TGA direct it brings me the rim error.
