Hello,

i played Fleet Operations 3.1.1 so far and enjoyed it very much and never had technical issues with it. Earlier today i updated to 3.1.5 and i have no sounds at all ingame. Buttonsounds in the menus work without problems, just ingame no speech, no button sounds, nothing... Anyone knows how to solve this issue?

With best regards

Welcome to the forum.

When you upgraded, did you go straight from 3.1.1 to 3.1.5? 3.1.5 is incompatible with any version lower than 3.1.4.

welcome to the forum tomcat2702

recently the game switched to a new popular sound engine called fmod ex.

it may be a silly question but did you install 3.1.4 before 3.1.5? 3.1.5 can only be installed onto 3.1.4.

Hi,

i completely uninstalled 3.1.1 including settings and savegames. After that i installed 3.1.4, and 3.1.5 patch afterwards.

I found out why there were no ingame sounds. For some reason there were no sound files in the sound subfolders. I guess that my antivirus somehow prevented them from installing (decoding maybe). After reinstalling FleetOps with the antivirus disabled, it now runs fine.

You probably forgot to install the multimedia pack from the site.
This should give you all sounds. Otherwise, yep. you're right, you have no sounds.
If I'm correct that is.

the multimedia pack only gives music.

all the game sounds like phasers firing are installed normally. they were only blocked cos of his antivirus, which he said in his post.
