Hi!

I wanted to try out FO on the internet but when I try to join a game it has "Host has been lost" or something. When I open up the game no one can see it. My Inet-IP of course differs from the local address because I use a router so I figured the problem was there.

GameSpy Ports

80        TCP, outbound
6500    UDP, inbound
6667    TCP, outbound
13139  UDP, inbound and outbound
27900  UDP, inbound and outbound
28900  TCP, outbound
29900  TCP, outbound
29901  TCP, outbound

Are these still the ports relevant to FO?

Use hamachi. Works perfectly fine, just ensure you do not have any other programs taking bandwidth from hamachi - no bittorrent, downloads or even itunes. If everything else is off, you can play with 5 - 6 players.

Thank you! I DL'd it and had some nice games! What I didn't understand how the Community is organised. I see these "game now" threads but I think that is not a vital option. Seems to me like the community might be split into gamespy, hamachi and even other stuff. Perhaps establish an IRC channel where you can meet agreements in real time?

thats the way it is. There is a tournament website online, where tournaments are being held. Maybe you find more players there. Eventually some of the fleetops team will make a "play now" subdir on the website where you can search for games/players...
