I keep on getting this problem:

Your externally known IP address differs from your local IP address(es).  This may prevent other people from seeing games that you create, and may cause you difficulty joining games.  Please press the help button for more information.
Externally Known IP Address: ..................
Local IP Address: .................
Local IP Address: .................

(Where the dots are I have taken the IP adresses out. But they are all different).

I have looked at the HELP in the game, but I can't make heads or tails of it. Need help.

Thanks.

Ahh... I had this prob. This is what you do. Make sure your security software does not block fleetops.exe internet access. Then after that make sure the site that host your games is not blocked.

Ohhh...
How do I do this?

Usually in security software there is a thing on programs access to the internet. Then there should be a button that you can use to add fleetops.exe to the "Allowed" or "enabled" list.

If you are using Hamachi or Wippien, or any such program you should  not have any problems hosting even if you have many IPs. ( Even if the notice says you can't host games that will be seen)
If you want to host in the Gamespy lobby ... forget about it. Most players have abandoned that option, for far to many reasons to elaborate, as for Hamachi it's also an old story ( i liked Hamachi ), and the new "hot" thing now is Wippien. Google it, decide if you want it.

I don't know about hosting games. But I do know when I had the problem, I could not join.

Sounds like a Firewall issue perhaps, or just your connections don't like eachother

what the message says is that u dont have a public ip. there are numerous reasons for that. for instance i have a home network so im behind a router. u can still play games and stuff using gamespy without a public ip , u just need to configure ur network.

if u are still reading this get wippien
