Hello
This is my first post eager to play the game as I tried it on my friends PC last week. Decided to download Fusion to and install windows7 64bit then install FO. All done with no cds or liscences. The game installed fine but the play is Wonky!  the in game curser is almost un playable. Wondering if there is anything I can tweak to make the game more stable . Tried increasing the game option of scroll rate , etc . Its very frustrating as I just want to play FO as smooth as if I were on a PC.
Thanks !!

Welcome on the forums Dissit! Doca Cola hopefully replies to your request in this matter. I have absolutely no clue how to solve that issue...what is Fusion? A Mac virtual PC software? ... read Jan, read.

hard to tell. some games do not run optimal in virtual environments which includes armada 2.
personally i run parallels desktop when i am on my mac machine working on fleet operations. it runs quite well but far from bare windows performance. parallels currently is superior over vmware fusion in terms of 3D performance.
much better performance can be achieved with wine implementations (wineskin or crossover), however there are still some issues when using wine.
currently still the best way to run Fleet Operations is to install Windows without any emulation -> Bootcamp.

You could try using Wine rather than a VM. It works on both Linux based OSs and Macs.

Wine Main Page
Wine FAQ

It's not perfect, but it runs FO just fine. Well, it does on Ubuntu, anyway. Results may vary.

Okay the only problem is i no longer have my mac installation cd, nor a windows 7 cd to install via bootcamp. hmmm Really want to play the game but im not really able to afford to buy windows 7 for just this one game. It is tempting though. Any one out there have some ideas for me how to have my cake and starfleet too? sorry bad joke haha
thanks!

Wine does not require Windows in any way as it doesn't use proprietary code.

Hi Dissit,

I also use VMware Fusion, version 4.

I had the mouse cursor issue, its the Hardware Cursor option in the settings.  Turn that off and it returns to normal.  Otherwise Fleet Ops plays in a normal, stable state for me.  I don't have the no-cd patch applied.
