I was fighting a glorious battle when disaster struck.  It was Stardate 3.0.6 and my fleet's eight Veqlaraghs were supposed to switch to their alternate torpdedos to shut down the engines of the retreating Romulan cowards so that my bird-of-prey squadron could get in range and blow them all to Sto-vo-kor.  But instead, those torpedoes merely hit their target without disabiling their engines systems!  If I find the filthy pahtak who sold me these defective torpedoes, GRE'THOR WILL BE PAVED WITH THEIR ASHES!

why not use BOP gravity mines instead?

That is what happens when you trust a shipment form a Ferengi. And I don't think Romulans would go to Sto'vokor?

Because if an ability isn't working it's called a "bug".  And there's this fun place on the forums for bugs called "Technical Stuff".  It's a nice place to post elements of the game that aren't working properly so that they can be fixed.

ermm you mean like the placement of the borg miners.... perhaps we should look for a specific angle where this would work.. u sure ure hitting those torps from the correct angle? Maybe u should try being "perpendicular" to the Rommie

After all, to report a bug you should know how to describe it in the defect u log... with the appropriate details

Heh, not bad.  At least with the Borg miners, doing it at a perpendiuclar angle makes sense.  Don't you put the mining stations of other races at perpendicular angles?  :P

I'm not sure why you edited this in afterwards.  What's there to explain?  Torpedoes that always shut down the engines when they hit are not shutting down the engines when they hit.  I'm not sure how you're confused on this, but then again you were trying to quote strategy to me in a thread that's about the game not working correctly.  The good news is Optec and Doca should be able to figure the problem out in no time. :)

Alternative Armament should work as intended. However most Romulan vessels have relative high system values, granting them a certrain resistance against subsystem failure

//edit: there seems to be a small bug, fixed

do we? ive never seen a mining station having to be perpendicular to the moon? My construction ship is. but not the mining stations. theya re usually along side :).

But we'll try to get a perpendicular out of it.... kling mining stations at least are not perpendicular... they are parallel ;).
It's ok. looks confusing.. perpendicular, parallel... fair enough :)

Thanks Optec.

@Serpicus.  I think you need to take a look at a unit circle again sometime, but whatever.  I'm sure next time you'll find the right sub-forum for Klingon tactics. ;)

Well, my "chain" doesn't feel very yanked, considering the one doing the yanking has egg all over his face from his Chicken Little act over the Borg changes. :P  Too bad you erased all the good parts.  They made for a pretty funny read. :)

To be fair though, I was very impressed that you were man enough to apologize to everyone.  And I'm happy that you enjoy the new changes now.  The Borg were certainly a tough nut to crack.  I know I needed a few hints from Dom to make sense of their gameplay.
