Every time I minimize Fleet Ops to do something on my Desktop and then return to it it comes back up taking only a portion of my screen. No window controls on it so it's obviously still in fullscreen mode but I can see (and click on) things on my desktop, with fleet ops taking up the top left corner. I'm using version 3.1.1. The problem goes away once I click launch to start a match (it takes up whole screen while loading and all times afterwards.) I'm using Windows XP Service Pack 3 and screen resolution is 1680x1050.

this is normal. even the stock armada II does this. nothing to worry about and I don't think anything can be done about it either

yeah, launch the game and it will go back to normal.
its because the shell is locked at 800x600, so when you go back into it, that is the actual size it will be

yes, a very very old problem i think even armada 1 had this problem. i am working on a general fix for all those window related issues, i just don't know when it can be implemented, as it still has a lot of bugs.

Is 'Alt+Enter' the minimize?

Alt+Enter when hit in game just windows the game - alt + tab minimizes

Alt+Tab doesn't minimize, it just switches to another window. Alt+Enter makes a fix largely unimportant.
I thought you meant minimize as in 'makes the screen small' not 'switch to another widow'.

alt + tab is actually used for switching to other windows that are open, anything that appears in the taskbar. if u want to minimise without switching to other windows, press win + d, it will minimise everything. u probably just tried it and saw your desktop lol.
alt + enter as correctly said will make fo change to windowed mode, this works in most programs that can have fullscreen mode, like media players. it doenst work in firefox though, that is F11.
EDIT: @tyler, making a window that is large become small is called restoring, and alt + tab works as minimise if no other programs are in the taskbar but fo. because it switches to desktop. its just easier to use win +d because that wont switch to other stuff.

Exactly.
Alt-Enter doesn't fix the problem furthermore, as the "lobby window" still becomes small, with the only way to restore it being to enter a game .

Alt+Tab to do things, then Alt+Enter always gets me back to full-screen without problem or a new game.
